Personal Narrative: Karen Sanchez
Most people have had many friends in their lifetime. There are some that left my life on good terms for reasons that we could not prevent, such as moving or changing schools. On the other hand, there are others that walked out in anger for dumb reasons that should have been resolved. Regardless, there are still have friends that have been in my life for years; conflicts were resolved peacefully and compromises were made. Out of my whole group of friends, Karen is the closest to me. We met in middle school and have been friends ever since. Karen Sanchez has been my best friend for years because we have many similar interests, we have compatible personalities, and she is my one trusted confidant. Karen and I have many similar interests. She has showed me many of my favorite TV shows, songs, and video games. She was the one who convinced me to watch the show “Steven Universe”. We have spent hours discussing the themes and plot of the show; it is easily my favorite show to watch and talk about. She has also been the one responsible for introducing me to several music artists that I would have never listened to myself. I have also showed her some songs from my playlists and there has been a couple that she decided to download. We also share many of the same video games and play together often.

We are both extremely non-confrontational, which means we rarely ever fight with each other. I have other friends that are much more aggressive and therefore fights can be a common occurrence, With Karen, however, we both forgive quickly and communicate effectively to resolve issues. We joke together and often make fun of each other, but we also reassure one another that they’re only jests. Karen cares about me and I care about her; we both make sure that our jokes do not actually hurt. Additionally, she’s the only person who I can be completely honest
