I am Athena. I am the goddess of reason, arts and literature, wisdom, courage, inspiration, civilization, law and justice, strategic warfare, mathematics, strength, and skill. The greeks represent me with an owl because of the wisdom an owl possess. I personally do not like being thought of as a fat feathered bird, but I have learned to deal with it. I am the daughter of Zeus. My birth is very unique because I did not have a mother. Instead, I sprang fully grown and clad in armour from Zeus' forehead. Therefore I do not have a mother. I am know as a companion of heroes. I have been known to grow kind of jealous at times which cause me to act out and seek revenge. I end up trying to fix my mistake. Now this is where I`m supposed to write “all about me”. This is where I become lost. I mean, come on. I wouldn`t know where to start. Growing up, I noticed a lot of discussion about financial problems between my parents. It’s not that we were becoming poor, it was because of our growing family needing more supplies. My mother just gave birth to my little brother when I started noticing the financial issues my family were facing. As a little girl, I do not know how our finances worked all I knew was many bills were due and I knew it because when I was a little girl I liked to practice reading and those bill statements were the papers that attracted my interest due to its colorful paper.…

My story beings like any other, at the moment I took my first breath on July 30th 1998 in Bilisht, Albania. I was born in a small town in the lower region of Albania where my entire family lived with my grandparents under one household. My parents soon came to the realization that the current living situation was incongruous for a new family, such as ours, to thrive. As the result, my parents chose to apply for the government program granting our family access to move into a completely new society with new laws, regulations, political aspects and that was tens of thousands of miles away. Our family, at that instant, had a struck of luck as my mother’s name was drawn for us to move to the greatest country the United States of America.…

Throughout my life I have encountered many circumstances that have shaped me into the person I am today. I was born in Moroleon, Guanajuato, Mexico. I attended school in Mexico all the way to second grade. In the summer of 2006 I moved to Cumming, Georgia. It was the hardest thing to do because I left everything that I care the most about. We lived in a trailer which was not the nicest place and in the middle of the forest. I started school at the beginning of August. I had always loved school so I was so excited for the first day. I knew it was going to be hard because I would have to conquer so many obstacles on the way. At this time the only English I knew was probably counting from one to ten and some of the colors. My Father knew some…

To allow Odysseus to get into his home without being recognized Athena disguises him as a beggar, and then as his plan continues he begins to slaughter the suitors. If Athena had not helped Odysseus by causing the suitors to miss their target each time they attempted to fire back at him, then he would have surely been dead fighting against so many puissant men. Athena was the goddess of power and wisdom, and she cared a lot for Odysseus, who was struggling to find his way back home, so she helped him in some difficult situations. However, she was kind of passive while he was fighting, letting him fight his own battles as she sat back and watched him prevail. She also helped Telemachus so he could earn a name for himself in battle. She is confident, smart, a great warrior, and she is also the goddess of the womanly arts. Athena lived on Mount Olympus with all the other Greek gods, and she was a big supporter of Odysseus while the other gods debated whether to help him. Athena also has an important role in the town she live in as an protector from all enemies. Athena got her name from another town name…

I admire Athena’s strong intelligence, her rationality in quarrels, her ability to bring peace to bad situations, and the fact that her emotions don’t stand in the way of the tasks she needs to complete. I dislike Athena’s terrible jealousy towards others, and her extreme lack of compassion to anyone but her favorites. Athena and I both possess intelligence, rationality, and unemotional stance in certain situations. Athena is one of my most favorites of the Greek gods, and her story is truly one of a…

At the beginning of the year it felt like I would have never been able to write any paper that was more than two pages long, it just seemed impossible, but for the research paper I actually had to stop myself from going off and writing a twelve page paper. I will admit and say that English is not my strong suit, in fact it is probably one of my more difficult classes. But just because it is difficult does not mean I don’t like it. I like looking for topics that interest me and still fit in with the guidelines, I like getting involved in the paper and researching the topic until it feels like my head is about to explode. I never saw any of that coming, I thought that I was going to have to go through English and just pray…

ak to the people they are watching over such as the instance in the Odyssey where Athena comes to Ithaca to visit Telemachus and reassure him that his father will be coming home and recommends a journey for the boy and to wait a year to allow him to make it home (pg.296). Though Telemachus may have not known it was Athena this is an example of a seen and heard Goddess which allows for her to reassure the boy. It is also seen with Achilles and Athena in the Iliad when Achilles is about to fight to the death with Agamemnon, on lines 205 and 206 it says “Athena came sent by the white-armed goddess Hera who loved and watched over the two men” (pg 194). In this scene it goes on to display a scene of the gods taking their power of visibility and…

There are many things that shape the Greek world in the light of their identity; legends and myths, archeology, relationships, status, and much more.
