Personal Narrative: How ROTC Changed My Life
Have you ever really wanted something and then just had it taken away from you? I wanted to join the military, that’s one thing I wanted more than anything so I joined ROTC. I saw ROTC as an opportunity to get closer to my goal in becoming a general in the army. ROTC I can say really changed my life in many positive ways. For example I met really great and intelligent people, And I learned new things every day. My freshman year I made a position in the battalion staff called S1. S1 is the battalion personnel officer I was in charge of putting everyone’s community service hours and any new cadet entering and leaving the program. People and other cadets in the battalion could not believe that a freshman could achieve such a high rank. …show more content…
As a result of me leaving ROTC as I mentioned before my grades drop tremendously. I was basically just showing up to take up space in school because I didn’t take it seriously any more. I figured that the only thing I actually wanted to do was taken away from me was taken so why even try anymore? Now that I look at the decision that I made In not caring I regret it. At first my GPA was over a 3.0 and then it dropped below a 2.0 and now im at fresh start trying to get the remaining credits I …show more content…
Also I have to put in the effort myself to do the work to finish as soon as possible, I may not be able to be what I wanted to be at the beginning of my freshman year but maybe there is something out there that may be better for me. All I can do right now is just try and graduate because at one point I wanted to drop out but then being a drop out I will not be able to support the life style I would want to live on a drop out

    With ever story of victory, comes a drowning idea of failure. Throughout our live, these battles are fought, taking not only mental strength, but physical as well. So for a second opinion, she went to the Epic Cancer center, also in Antioch California.     Loyalty, Duty, Respect, Selfless Service, Honor, Integrity, and Personal Courage are the seven basic values of the army. JROTC helped me grow as a person and let me interact with people that I would have never interacted with before. I developed social skills and a good work ethic during my time in the JROTC.
