Personal Narrative: Hi Shipmate
Hi, shipmate. Congratulations on your wedding anniversary, this day-in-age that is a true accomplishment. I spent my high school years in San Diego and ended up enlisting into the Navy after graduating. Served as a RM and gave the service eight gratifying years. Being stuck in Kansas makes me miss the mild coastal winters, and do not get me started on beautiful Seaport Village, sniff-sniff. I understand the discipline struggle in completing on-line courses, but in lue of the convenience I decided to put my big girl pants on and see the degree to the finish-line. Good luck to you.

During my shift today, I built good rapport with an alumni and we talked for quite a while. He asked whether or not I could keep in contact with him so that he could network with me. I just gave him my email because I was unsure of the protocols of giving out personal info. I had told my shift supervisor already, and was wondering if you could help me do a check on him to make sure he is safe.…

“Ooze!” the fight began, I clashed swords with my opponent. I loosed the match, but during the match I got a new idea for a character. I was eager to get home so I could start drawing. When I got home it was time to start a whole new world, in a way. So, I grabbed my drawing supplies and began to draw. But I had other things to do so I had to postpone it for 30 minutes. Then I returned to my drawing.…

A tarnished sword sat in my grandparents' house for 50 years. No one knew where it came from. No one knew why it was there. Three years ago, I spotted this sword propped up against the fireplace. I noticed an inscription in the brass and leather scabbard with a name, Ephraim F. Bauder, in cursive script. This is the story of that sword.…

People often ask me, “do you play basketball or volleyball? Because you’re really tall.” As a six-foot-tall girl, I find that people are disappointed when I tell them “no, not anymore.” I was always told by coaches and parents that “you have potential,” but basketball, much to my dad’s dismay, was not for me. I found that I had the potential to do something with my life, to be someone bigger than myself. My freshman and sophomore years, I did not want to be involved in my school. Rather I wanted to get in and get out and go to college. But all that changed when I decided I wanted to be a Link Crew Leader, at the time I did not know what it meant to be a link leader, I just knew I wanted to be one.…

I was a camp counselor at Camp Wabikon ‒ a co-ed overnight summer camp located in Temagami, Ontario for children who are 6-15 years of age. Along with teaching Red Cross swimming and lifesaving and Tennis, I was my cabin's 'parent' for six weeks. Therefore, I was present with the children at all times. In essence, I was the leader of my cabin's the physical, social and mental development. The main things I learned were the importance of time management and organization , as I had to plan lessons for swimming and Tennis while taking care of my cabin; conflict resolution between campers; and the ability to plan and foresee events (I had to plan camp-wide events and activities for all campers).…

I and my family always go out to some restaurants. Finally, I’m scared of snakes. When I was young, I was almost bitten by a snake. These are some of my details.…

In 2004 at the young age of 19 I found myself in a new place, a new world that I had never seen before. I joined the Marines out of High School to see the world and learn about other people. What I learned in the military I have applied it to my daily life. I learned to never judge someone by what they look like or how they live. Just because it is new to you or different dose not mean it is wrong.…

As a kindergartener, when I grew up I wanted to be a princess, or own a hamster farm, or never really grow up at all. In second grade I developed an obsession with the ocean and what lives in it, specifically sharks. Because of my love of sharks I decided that when I grew up I wanted to be a marine biologist. When I made this decision I never knew what a big part math played in this profession. Math has always been my biggest weakness when it came to my education. I would spend hours trying to understand all the numbers and what to do with them. I know now regardless of my love of the ocean, I would have ended up being miserable having to spend the rest of my life constantly feeling confused and idiotic.…
