Personal Narrative Essay Of Shakuria
I was really proud of Shakuria this evening for stepping up and talking to other members about doing chores Due to 2 members being on maternity and census being low each member got 2 chores. Staff apologized and explained about the chore list may not seem fair and why they all got 2 chores but chores had to be done. Members started to complain and Shakuria got them all quiet and gave a little speech about the chores and getting weekend passes and consequences. And when staff went to check the chores one member had not did such a good job and it was Shakuria that got her to come and complete her chore.

Have you ever wondered where you would be if you would have chosen another path? Have you ever wondered how that choice could have changed your life if you would have made it? Whether they are good or bad they still come back to me. Everything we do is based upon choices. After we make those choices there comes consequences. We can never decide our consequences, they just come.…

At the beginning of the year it felt like I would have never been able to write any paper that was more than two pages long, it just seemed impossible, but for the research paper I actually had to stop myself from going off and writing a twelve page paper. I will admit and say that English is not my strong suit, in fact it is probably one of my more difficult classes. But just because it is difficult does not mean I don’t like it. I like looking for topics that interest me and still fit in with the guidelines, I like getting involved in the paper and researching the topic until it feels like my head is about to explode. I never saw any of that coming, I thought that I was going to have to go through English and just pray…

I came back to the house after dropping Lauren off at school to find Noah back at the house. "I thought I told you to leave?" I asked. "You did but I never left," he replied calmly. "Why?" I asked. "Because we need to talk about custody," he replied,"I was thinking I get half and you get half." "I don't want to just see my baby half of her life," I yelled. "Well neither do I," he yelled back. "Why can't we just be happy together and give Lauren a good childhood?" I asked. "I don't know. Where did we go wrong?" Noah replied. "I have no idea. Could we maybe give us another chance?" I asked shyly. "I... Um..... Guess we can try," he gave in. "Thank you," I said as I hugged him. We're going to fight for our…

The first time I met Anastasija was not quite the first time she ‘met’ me. In particular, before starting her high school education at NOVA International Schools, I had heard of Anastasija and her interests through my contact with one of her cousins, Ms. Bela Gligorova, who was my guidance counselor at that time. I was introduced to Anastasija in person in December 2010, right after I finished my college applications. An inquisitive young mind, a polite and thoughtful person, Anastasija’s curiosity and questions about my college application process and my high school accomplishments, struck me as novelty, since Anastasija was only in seventh grade at the time.…

There has been many cases in which I have helped an outsider feel welcome. One time in particular is when I played tag with this little boy at church since he was new and no one else played with him. Originally, I was outside eating candy and talking to my friends at church. I noticed that this little boy was standing all alone watching all the other little kids play without him. I thought that maybe he was upset so I went over to him and asked if he wanted the rest of my gummy worms. He seemed nervous at first, but eventually he started talking to me. I learned that he was five years old and he was visiting his grandparents for the weekend. His older brother was outside playing basketball with some of the other older boys at the church, and…

Most in the family called her Nani; in fact, everyone I ever witness engaged with her, called her Nani, except for one person, her daughter Marylou who always referred to her with some less than endearing term, the most common was “old woman.” Nani who has long passed was a delight. She stood under five feet tall, and weighted no more than 90 pounds, of which 80 pounds was all heart - she was fiery, witty, intelligent, and gentle. Nani loved people, adored children, respected everybody; she never refused anyone help, she dedicated her life to helping others –I assume it is for these reasons she took on the title of Nani. I once asked my father why everyone called her Nani, instead of Ruth, or grandma, his response was something to the effect…

My inner goddess was brimming with pride. This election was Kristi Yamaguchi’s gold medal. I bore on my shoulders ten Key Clubs in my division. Everywhere I went, I was reminded of my responsibility to fulfill my duty: “Did I tell my clubs that monthly reports are due on the 5th yet? Nope, got to send an email about that.” The notes and reminders app on my phone was in frequent use. In the hallways at school, I strode independently with an aura of self-assurance and maturity echoed in every step. I had a job to lead the clubs in my division and represent the Key Clubs in my…

I felt this sense of fear, but I knew it was just nervousness. It caused my whole body to tremble. I creeped onto the field and pass by the fifty girls and all of the coaches. Just me walking by everyone gave me this ginormous knot in my stomach, it made me feel like I was going to pass out right on the field. I was breathing heavy, like I just ran a marathon. I was beyond nervous just to be the new girl on the field. I was scared of what the girls thought of me, and how the coaches thought I would play and adapt to the sport. I had never even picked up a lacrosse stick and the girls were passing, catching and shooting on goal: how does a new player get to there if they were two week late into the season? I was terrified I would never get to the level of the rest of the team.…
