Personal Narrative: An Interview With Eric's Family Life
Imagine being isolated, lonely, alone with no one around to give you company. This is Eric’s fear of being alone. On August 31, 2016, in my english 11 class, I interviewed Eric Swihart, this was the first time I’ve seen and met him. I had discovered things about Eric’s family life, school education, and hobbies. The first topic that I had interviewed Eric about is his family life. Eric was born on June 8, 2000 in Westmoreland hospital in Pittsburgh. from then on he was raised in what I would consider a big family. Eric has three siblings, two brothers and one sister. His siblings are Logan who is 24, Luvus who is 21, and his younger sister Erin is 14. His family also include pets, a hamster, 5 cats and a dog. Though Eric doesn't know what the hamster is named he did give me the names of the cats, They are, Noel, …show more content…
In middle school where he’d seen his friends. He has a hilarious 8th grade history teacher and didn’t like to learn. After he graduates Eric plans on working and relaxing with no children. When school is over Eric has a job at McDonalds working in the service area. Eric has no other after school activities and his most influential person in his life is his mom. She taught Eric about a lot of subjects when it comes to life, such as being respectful to other people.
The final area of conversation was about Eric’s personality traits and hobbies. Eric’s hobbies are guitar, hanging out with his friends, playing video games, and he also is a part of a band named “Kaelber”. All of these hobbies help bring out Eric’s funny personality. He also likes to listen to Megadeth, a thrash metal from the 80’s but mostly 90’s. Eric also gave me his insight about being a teenager. He stated “Adults never treat you with respect but they expect us to respect them.” This conversation also brought up that when people are disrespectful towards other people it gets on his

He goes to the hoop. He jumps, hanging in the air for what felt like eternity. It was his second game. Brought up from the D-League, he needed to prove himself. His name is Jeff “Elmo” Beige. As the ball is coming down, closer to the hoop another individual comes into play. The name is unnecessary to know, but the man is key to Jeff’s story. The man jumps. He didn’t have to, but he did it anyway. His six-foot ten body could have easily blocked the shot on Jeff’s six-foot five structure. As Jeff’s hand with the ball comes crashing toward the net the man’s hand makes contact with the ball. The ball doesn't even touch the rim. Rejected at the rim. Jeff’s career is over at that very moment. One block defined his whole basketball career. Such a dejected ending for a fantastic story.…

Imagine a child in a large shopping area, like the Mall of America with their parents. Their most important task is to not get lost because of the fear of isolation. I was that child. When I was younger my family went to the Mall of America and we got put into a situation of being broken off from each other. Everyone in my group was afraid, my parents were freaking out because no one could get ahold of anyone. We all were flustered because we did not want to be alone and did not want to be lost in such a large place. This led to us crying and freaking out due to the stress and isolation that had been pushed upon us. Many variations of American Literature can directly tie to this idea of isolation. All the pieces of literature we have studied this year have a common theme, that the fear of isolation leads to emotional pain in the life of the characters.…

“He can be Taught,” is the perfect title for how the day went. It was wonderful to see M smiling and having a great day. He followed directions, which was our main objective and the smile on his face was contagious. We did numerous activities that involved counting and memorization, so now I’m wondering what his limits are. Next time we will continue some of the same activities, but I want to get him counting to higher numbers. I think the sticker idea was brilliant, and it gave M a goal to work towards. I learned that giving praise and encouragement for jobs well done, was contagious as well. The proud look on his face when he got to put his own sticker on the chart, reminded me of when I had gotten one of those sticker stars when I was in…

After the Inspector arrives, and starts to interrogate Arthur, Eric interrupts again with ‘Why shouldn’t they try for higher wages?’. Eric has again brought along the point which a lot of the audience would be been thinking. At the same time, Eric has given these workers, and Eva, a voice to be heard. It also isolates Eric a little from the rest of his family as he cares more about the ‘wages’ that these lower class people get than the money of the business, which Arthur doesn’t like at all. The audience would start to see a clear divide between the family starting with Eric and Arthur, and later Sheila and Sybil. Questions are used a lot around Eric’s character, which could show very clearly that he wants to know why things are happening or even that why certain things aren’t happening, relating closely to society at the time.…
