Personal Narrative: A Short Story
My limbs felt like they had been shattered into a million pieces and the numbness was slowly consuming my entire body. My eyes slowly opened, leaving me puzzled at the sudden change of light. 'Where was I?' I thought. The anguish in my head resulted in my incompetence to move and look around my surroundings. The only thing I remembered was getting hit by a car, any events that had happened after that were gone from my memory.
Slowly, the numbness exited, setting free my body and allowing me to scrutinize my surroundings. A chandelier hung from the bright yellow ceiling. The bed that I was lying on made me feel like I was floating on clouds. I'm so sorry, I know that won't help you recover any faster, but I just wanted you to know that i tryou am sorry," he answered rather shyly.
"That's alright. Thank you for helping me out though, you saved my life," I said.
"That's the least you can do for someone you hit with a car'" he smirked.
He grabbed a chair and sat next to me, "I'm Jeffrey," he smiled.
"Rose," I said softly. I kept thinking about my mom, she must be worried sick. I had gotten into a fight with her a few days back and hadn't talked to her since, I hated when we argued over trivial things and they led to terrible fights.
"I should leave, I don't want to be a burden plus my mom must be worried," I said, struggling to sit up but eventually succeeding.
"You are not going anywhere, not under my watch," He said sternly. Then, leaning forward and looking at me intently, he brushes my golden locks aside casuing my cheeks to flush red.
