Personal Narrative: A Letter To A Rhetoric Youth Ministry
I'm writing this letter because after our meeting I have had plenty of time to digest, think and evaluate the questions asked, the answers given, and my outlook on it all. The biggest thing I believe stood out to me was my lack of experience. I understand that may be an issue for some, but I personally believe that is one of the biggest plus sides, to elaborate I think my fresh ideas my strong passion, faith in Christ and my desire for these children will push, drive, and motivate me more than any other person. I also understand that I will be dealing with culture, economics and flat out different types of kids as Hamlin's interim youth pastor but I honestly believe God has equipped me to deal with all forms of kids. Another thing that stood …show more content…
Can I preach as well as Pastor Pat or Pastor Richard absolutely not, I'm saying my work ethic, my study habits my knowledge of the Gospels and of Christ would make the transition from a Sunday school teacher or a devotional leader to a youth pastor an easy transition because I don't mind standing in front of those children and preaching the gospel because I understand how important it is for these children to know the gospel now before this sinful world takes a full grasp of their life which can actually happen to any kid no matter how well they are raised because this world is all around …show more content…
What I want to convey if I love Hamlin and I would never leave Hamlin out of frustration I will accept whatever position I was given, but most importantly I'm going to follow God in whatever I do in my life. I would love to have the opportunity to step in with the kids I love in the church I love with the people I love and help further God's kingdom. So I would love the opportunity to step in and be the interim youth pastor, I don't care about being paid I don't care about my salary I would just like the opportunity to show you all my vision, to walk the walk not just talk to talk. At the end of the day if you all decide I'm not the man for the job we've lost nothing but time which isn't ours anyway so when that time comes and you do hire someone else I will step down, I would accept that you all decided I'm not the man for the job but before you do give someone outside of our church the position I would love to have the opportunity to raise up already as a member of the church and fill the shoes that Hamlin needs

Lori, I truly enjoyed your interview response on Reverend Jennifer Beagle. I can agree with her statement on developing a ministry, “It’s a battle worth fighting, suit-up, buckle-up, and don’t doubt that God is in everything. Find God in every circumstance and view people as creations”. (Beagle, 2015) Just as the varying parts of the human body need each other to best accomplish its work, so the Body of Christ needs to function interdependently, like a team. (Rom. 12:4-8; 1 Cor. 12:12-27) God so designed the Church that it "grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work". (Eph. 4:16) Christian leaders are servants. Jesus specifically addresses servant leadership…

I learned a lesson all the way back in first grade, and that lesson has stuck with me ever since. I was coming in from recess, and I was talking to a friend of mine off to my left. Unfortunately, I was not watching where I was going. I kept barely taking glances of what was in front of me, and that was a huge mistake. Someone was running behind me, and wasn’t watching where they were going either. As I approached the building I heard yelling, but thought nothing of it. After all, recess had just finished, so obviously kids would be yelling, right? It turns out some kids had been playing tag, and decided to play until they got inside. One that was still running away, because God forbid he’d be “it,” was Nick.…

The reason that you are here for this meeting is that you have all been selected to work in leadership roles in the church. Though you serve in the position at OBC, this opportunity should never be taken lightly because God orchestrated it. As a leader in the ministry, there should be a continually question of “Am I pleasing God and operating at a level of excellence that He would be pleased with in this role.”…

The black church in the 21st century needs strong, leaders who model biblical servanthood. Servant leaders are essential for transitioning a traditional black church. As a result of reading and hearing all the shocking stories related to the black church, and above all leadership in general, it’s time to develop a model of biblical leadership which will grow healthy servant leaders in the church where I currently serve as pastor. Our church community needs servant leaders who will model biblical attributes through connecting to God, connecting to each other, and connecting to serve this present age. The black church indeed needs a different leadership model. A ministry project of this magnitude will improve our existing contextual setting and the Christian community at Progressive Missionary Baptist Church.…

Walking into the locker room about to get ready to go to our last football game of the season. I could smell the sweaty equipment from the kids who never take their pads home. The Hempfield Spartans 7th grade team would be ending their season 0-7 if we didn’t win today. As I was changing into my pads my friend mike walked in the room. I said “you ready for tonight”. “Heck yeah” replied Mike.…

In chapter 12, the key event to me was when Claudia and Finn talked to each other through the keys. I felt many emotions when reading their interaction one of them being happy. I felt happy when they talked to each other because it was a turning point in the story in my opinion. I also felt surprised because at first, I thought by having two keys, there would be a lock that would need both keys to hear and speak to each other. I also felt confused by the way they conversed; How could they now hear each other but not before. I think by having one key being touched, the other key can hear because on page 153 Claudia says she breathed and rubbed on the key making it warm and on page 154 Finn says when he touches the key it's warm.I like the way the author wrote the scene from both perspectives, it gave us the readers a clearer understanding of how both Finn and Claudia felt. I also like how the author described the way both keys affect each other and have a "key" connection.…

Christianity has always been apart of my life. My grandparents, parents and siblings are strong christians and always encouraged me to become one. When I was about four I was at a Christian camp that my family had always gone to and I decided then that I would give my life to Christ. But honestly at four years old I had only given my life to Christ because that's what everyone else did. Through my early teenage years I had lost my connection with Christ. There were so many difficult situations I was going through that Christ seemed so distant from me and what I needed. But turns out what I really needed was Christ. At the beginning of my sophomore year I began to go to Young Life, and what a difference Young Life made on my life. Young Life…

Ever since I was born, I was a military brat. Not knowing where to call home, or if any place could be home, I moved. I moved six times, four of those places were towns that nobody could think about. Germany, North Carolina, Alaska, North Carolina, Germany, and Alaska, yet no place to call home. May 22, 1999, my first day on this world; Kronach hospital had its first American baby in their hands, yet they acted like I was a different species. The only event I remember was when I was about one. While I was one, I grabbed everything in my reach, even a grill handle. As a baby, I did not know that the handle was moving, the grill top had smashed my thumb. Ever since that event, I now have a starfish mark on the side of my right thumb from where the stiches were.…
