Quite possibly the most significant time of my life was during my senior year as part of the Edison High School football team. The story of our 2006 season is a reflection of my life and testimony to my beliefs and values. Underdogs from day one, we represented not only our school, but also our community and families. Early expectations of the 2006 Eagles were low and the surrounding community was under the belief that Edison would be lucky to go 6-4 with the inexperienced players and the loss of such a talented senior class. Suddenly, I was starting as the outside linebacker/defensive end for the first time in my career along with 18 brand new starters. Unexpectedly, a green group of replacements were 5-0, half-way through our season. After…
I would go to the football field and go into the box announcers seat with a crossbow, bottle of water, protein bar, boards and a walkie talkie to respond to the other look outs. I would hide out in the box and since zombies are slow it would take them quite a long time to get to but when they do my look outs will take them out but if some pass by or I lose a person I can shoot them from my perfect view in the box from the field they are on and once all of them have been taken out I will call my crew together announce over the speaker we are safe and then call in on my walkie talkie the helicopter get my crew and head to the white house for our medals of honor for defeating our zombie…
I was always afraid to play the position of quarterback on the football team. I am good at blocking and catching the ball, but when it comes to throwing the ball I get nervous.…
“Swish” as the ball goes through the net. The crowd went wild in the stands as Adam shot the ball. Adam is a tall and brown curly haired boy, with wide hands up to eight inches long. Coach Smith was off his seat and sweating a lot. Coach Smith is a big, bald, and a tall man. The team was down by two, they had the ball. Seven seconds left, the clock was ticking. Two seconds left Randy, had shot the ball at the three point line. Randy is a hairy chimpanzee that loves to play basketball. There was no time left on the clock. When suddenly, the gymnasium was left in complete darkness, just before if everybody saw if the shot was good or not. When the lights turned backed on Randy was gone. Everybody was looking for him. All that was left was Randy’s hair…
Boom! The hit of the pads on that field whether its Friday night, Saturday morning, or Sunday afternoon its always the right time to throw on the pads and play and/or watch the amazing sport of football.…
Our quarterback broke his leg doing some activity with his family over the weekend. The coach chose me to be the new quarterback because if he would have chose someone else we would have been negative in the position that he chose I felt like the coolest guy in the world because i was starting for a football team It was 8 man football which means that we had 5 linemen, 2 running backs, and a quarterback. In 11 man you got 5 linemen, 1 quarterback, 1 running back, and 4 receivers.…
After Dana hurt Roy he had to stay home all weekend to make sure he was okay. Before going back to school he was nervous about seeing Dana again although he was not at school. When Garrett saw Roy at school he told him that everyone was talking about what he did to Dana and that they think he is a tough guy. Roy asked Garrett who the tall girl with the red glasses is, and he said that her name is Beatrice Leep, she is a major soccer jock, has a major attitude and is so tough that she broke the collarbone of a lineman on the football team after he slapped her on her bottom. Officer Delinko was looking forward to getting up early and scouting the construction site. So he sat in his squad car with his headlights on and saw some owls. He awakens…
It all started at ninth street with some friends of mine John and I started recruiting some people to come play football with us. I honestly didn’t know I had a pretty decent arm. I originally was going to start practicing to play wide receiver instead of quarterback. At the time Odell Beckham Jr. ( wide receiver for the New York Giants ) was extremely explosive and dynamic on offense. Seeing him blow up on offense made me want to try out for wide receiver. But somehow John convinced me to play quarterback.…
Furthermore, I'm close to my destiny, close to being done with physical therapy, close to being able to play sports again! If you haven’t found out by now, sports are my life, and always will be till the day i die. I’d have to say making my own choice to stick with football, and play again, has truly made me the guy i used to be. When this happened, I was down and out all the time, but knowing I will get to play football again, has made me want to get better and changed my attitude toward things.…
*Warning, lengthy post* Hey guys, long-time reader, first-time poster here. I’m a highschool student in Kansas City and I’ve been wanting to let some thoughts out of my head about this playoff run, so I figured I could share them with you guys instead of some Chiefs fans that really couldn’t care less.…
After sitting at the same desk for three years, I figured I was beyond seeing anything new. I was wrong. It was the beginning of the school year and I was hoping I would pass twelfth grade so I could try to go to college but right now chances looked slim. I am the classic couch potato, plump like a pig and lazy, that was why I couldn't pass. Over time I began to realize that I would need to alter my ways or I would spend a miserable life. I resolved to lift weights and run every day and get into shape and try a lot harder in school. I was fit and I had never played sports, so when school came I joined the football team. I studied the playbook hard and memorized the plays so that when they called a play I instantly saw what was going to…
The old brick building looked to be about a million years old, but it was only 14. The thick stench of tobacco and smoke filled the air. There wasn’t much lighting, so it was always darker than outside, unless it was night. Kendrick was a tall kid that loved football. His parents could barely afford the equipment he needed.…
I was so nervous about starting soccer for my very first time ever. I knew that I knew nothing about soccer. But I decided that I was still going to try out for it anyway. Peyton Hudson really encouraged me to join because she was playing and she said it was a lot of fun, plus they needed players. I was just so excited to start playing.…
“Cameron, you can’t play football you’ll die,” My mother told me in her usual serious tone, I could always count on my mom to keep it 100% reality even though I hated it. I wanted to play football so bad for three years I've literally had dreams of me playing defensive back, my wishful position, and being able to play with my emotions and do very well. I stopped pursuing football even though deep down I was still set on football.…
Starting soccer when I was only five years old was challenging because of my October birthday I had to play with all the six year olds. My parents had put me in soccer because I was a young boy filled with too much energy. After playing soccer for about a year I decided I wanted to do more, I loved the sport. I started playing club soccer when I was 7 years old, playing for under the wing of Charley Amblo. This was a training team only, it was not till I was nine that I was started playing for a travel team. This was the beginning of where I learned my leadership, time management, and teamwork dynamics.…
