I make decision on my own, but only after careful evaluation of various opinions, situation analysis and assessment of suggestions. Part II To relate my scores in leadership styles to the country scores, I first looked for the countries, which matched my highest scores. Then I marked countries with lower scores similar to mine. When I reached the last two leadership styles, I searched for similarities only with the countries with which I had approximate scores in previous styles. Having marked all countries, I was able to see which countries correspond to my leadership style. For instance, with respect to charismatic style, I had the same approach as was common in Argentina, Australia, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Denmark, Finland, Greece, Guatemala, Hungary, Indonesia, Ireland, Kuwait, Malaysia, Namibia, Netherlands, New Zealand, South Africa, Spain, Switzerland, Turkey, Zambia and Zimbabwe. As the meeting of choice, our monthly assembly for the side project between friends began fairly casually. The meeting starts with opening comments initiated by the leader. The approach here is free reign or laissez faire. While it does impose ideas or functions, it allows the other members of the team to be openly expressive and creative. Once the opening phase is complete and the ideas have been thoroughly stirred around, the leader then takes back authority and begins the structure and form of the meeting, giving the tasks ahead, and some recommended approaches we can take. This is known as the participative approach. This style involves the leader including one or more employees…

In 2003, the Institute of Medicine recommended transformational leadership as the best approach in health care (Finkelman & Kenner, 2016). I like this style of leadership for many reasons. First because for a person to be a transformational leader they must be inspirational (Spahr, 2015) Second, they must be motivational (Spahr, 2015) And third they must lead by example (Spahr, 2015). I feel competent applying this style because I have always believed in leading by example. Also, because I have many of the characteristics required to be a transformational leader. Characteristics such as: well organized, team oriented, respected and able to respect others, and able to share responsibility (Spahr, 2015).…

The Caldwell Fellows offers an intense leadership program that will help to develop the potential for someone with leadership qualities, and I have leadership qualities. When I think of leadership, I think of such characteristics as reliability, kindness, knowledge, and a voracious drive for continued learning. With these characteristics, regardless of the situation, a person can motivate others to develop, to progress, and to attain a common goal. People who have the potential for leadership would benefit from learning techniques and getting experience in the field. Leadership development is a way for someone who has the capability of leading to advance and enrich themselves and others.…

There are many general categories of leadership styles, trait, behavioral, situational, contingency, transactional, and transformational theories (Cherry, 2012). These categories highlight the evolution of leadership theories and study but also highlight the change in cultural beliefs in the world. There are several approaches within each category; we will leverage these specific approaches to define Nardelli’s style of leadership. Trait based theories focus on the characteristics that differentiate a leader from the generic employee. This theory focused on the inclination that leaders were born and had specific traits that made them leader. Such traits as height and physical attractiveness were just a few that were evaluated. They stated that if they were successful in one business they would be successful in another (Baack, 2012). Behavioral based theories…

Since it has been my experience that there are exceptions to rules, I believe that leadership style assessments are useful if they are coupled with other data, such as independent assessors. For example, this week I completed a self -assessment regarding my leadership style from our course textbook, Leadership Theory and Practice, which indicated I am strong in both task and relationship skills. While I mostly agree with this outcome after reflecting on my past leadership accomplishments and activities, I wondered if others who know me would agree with the assessment. Then, I also wondered how bias I was in completing the assessments. As a matter of fact, according to Northhouse the purpose of the assessment was to present a general profile of leader skills. (Northhouse, 2016).…

A leadership style refers to the mode at which a leader dictates policies, procedures and decides what as well as how goals are to be achieved within the organization (Joan M. 2007). I determined that my leadership style after taking the analysis quiz is the style of a problem solver. This leadership style primarily includes making decisions inside the company that come up with ways to resolve issues. For example, the sales of the organization are at an all-time low for the first and second quarters of the current the year. A decision needs to be made as to how to increase sales based on such a leadership style (problem solver) in order to increase sales during the third and fourth quarters of the current year.…
