I was very surprised when I took the Career Profiler; I had taken something like this when I was a senior in high school. In high school my results suggested that I should do something in agriculture, and now 11 years later it suggests that I should do something in Business, Finance or Law. These results were not surprising to me. These are things that I have actually always been interested in. I think that knowing my competencies is really going to help me with my critical thinking in the future. I had never really considered myself someone who thought logically, but according to my results I do. Knowing this will help me to stop second guessing myself whenever I think I am way off from the mark. I already knew that I am a researcher, because I love knowing everything about everything, I love to investigate topics and see where things started. Having this confirmed will give me the confidence to trust my instincts about myself. I have always loved writing and I already use it to my benefit. So researching and writing are competencies that I already knew that I possessed and having them confirmed was nice.…

My personality, values and interests would go along well with occupations. My personality characteristics would benefit me well in Post- Secondary Education because I am outgoing, kind, helpful, friendly and warming to many people. I like activities that require working with people to teach them or help them in some way. I also enjoy the satisfaction…

This assignment links very clearly with Social Cognitive Career Theory (SCCT). SCCT details how career and academic interests are established, how career choices are developed, and how these career choices revolve into action. This is achieved through a focus on several cognitive-person variables such as self-efficacy and outcome expectations and on how these variables interact with other aspects of the person and his or her environment such as gender, ethnicity and barriers to help shape the course of their career development. (Lent, et al., 2000) (Gibbons & Shoffner, 2004) (Lent, et al., 1994) Self-efficacy refers to the beliefs people have about their ability to successfully…

One the interests and skills test we took it said that, Investigative and conventional is my biggest interests. I think that the investigative part is really correct but the convention is not, I see myself-way more social than conventional. On the skills part it shows that I have a lot of organizational, leadership, and literary. Which, I agree on to the fullest about me being so. There was an only one career suggestion that I actually would care about doing. That career was being an intellectual property lawyer, even though that I would like to do more criminal defense lawyer.…
