Choosing a career is one of the most challenging decisions in a person’s life. As a child the ultimate dream is to become a successful person; whether it be a doctor, lawyer, celebrity, etc… Children are influenced by the people in his or her life on what to become and what kind of lifestyle to have. Sometimes parents tell their children to become doctors so they can make a lot of money and be successful; so the child will grow up thinking that she will have to become a doctor. Eventually she will grow up and realize that she doesn’t have to become a doctor and she will follow her own path. A person usually develops her identity and decides what career she wants by the time she is an adolescent. The things that influence this decision is passion, experiences, and dedication. When choosing a career she needs to think about what she is passionate about and what she loves to do; for instance if she loves helping people she should choose a career that interacts with them. Some examples of a career that involves helping people are nursing, psychologists, doctors, etc… Now that she has a general idea of what kind of career she wants she has to think what kind of environment she wants to work in. Does the person want an office job, hospital, or does the person have no preference at all? All of these factors come into play when choosing a career. Some people choose her career by what experiences she has had. If she liked a certain experience that she had maybe she can expand that experience and go off of that as her career. Experiences can be effective to a person whether it be good or bad. If she had a bad experience maybe that will give her an indication that the place where she had that experience isn’t for her. The only way to gain experience is for her to volunteer and put herself out there; that way when its time for her to choose a career she can look back and think of what she did and didn’t like. Dedication is one last factor that plays into choosing a

Searching for the right career choice in life is not an easy task. There are a few important points to take into consideration when searching. The career path must be a profession in which the individual likes or doesn 't mind doing through the course of his entire professional career. The author believes that the Career Interests Profiler can be applied to her career choices in several ways. First the Career Interests Profiler gives her an opportunity to network with many in the same profession as her. Second, she can seek out the great diversity of opportunities available to her that she might not otherwise knew existed before the Career Interests Profiler. Finally, the author will always appear presentable to promote herself to interested employers searching for great people who are knowledgeable and experienced in particular areas (Myers, 2015).…

It's a person's choice of which path they want to take in the future but without help they can choose the wrong path. As Dr. Seuss said in his poem" I'm sorry to say so but, sadly, it's true and Hang-ups can happen to you." My Perspective is that careers is a very important course in high school because it helps students discover their skills and choose the right career. Careers will show kids how to create and do different aspects of getting a job and starting a career. It will let them explore the different opportunities for them in the future and educate them to choose the career best for them. In…

In Zinsser’s articles he talks about how students feel obligated to live up to their parents dreams for their life. They also are not happy with their choices because it tends to be something that they are not passionate about. As one may know many parents help out with the cost of college and many students will always want to choose a career that their parents approve of because they know that their parents are footing the bill. Zinsser also includes examples of people asking students on a college campus if they like the career that they are currently pursuing. “Do you want to go to medical school? I guess so, or not really. Then why are you going? Well, my parents want me to be a doctor. They’re paying all this money and…..” (260). Zinsser adds this piece in the article because kids would love to make their parents proud, but it is not realistic to do when the students do not enjoy the career that their parents choose for them. Zinsser also stresses the importance of looking at all options and considering different career paths even though parents are wanting what's best for their child. Some of the careers that parents dream about their kids having one day include lots of schooling, even up to eight or ten…

In the real world, people search for jobs that will give them personal satisfaction, along with a good paycheck. Unfortunately, we all are not lucky enough to get the jobs that we want, so we have to settle for what is available at the time. I mean, how many people really dreamed of being like Calvin, and working at McDonalds, or who really had aspirations of laboring at the local Shell station? This is not always the case, a lot of people actually decide what they want to be, then actually accomplish their career goals. Most people, when searching for a career, usually pick something that they would enjoy, rather than something that they hate to do, but pays well.…

Dorothea Mackellar’s ‘My Country’ is a poem expressing Mackellar’s deep passion and love for her country, Australia. The whole poem’s intention seems to evoke the sense of praising for the country and express Mackellar’s deep relationship and passion with her land. Mackellar attains this response from the audience by using numerous language techniques such as; juxtaposition, personification, sound patterns including alliteration and assonance, imagery, and paradox. The use of first person throughout the whole poem suggests that the theme of this poem has been evoked by personal experience.…

A photographer has to be open minded and have artistic ability, and a real estate sales associate must be able to negotiate and have oral comprehension. But they both have the idea of them needing to have organization and social skills. Having a set idea of what one wants to be after high school is a step towards success. Knowing the right information about the careers one is interested in helps set a good idea if they wish to pursue more education for the specific career or not. Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love and believe in, and it will come naturally. ~David…

The demand for choosing a suitable career where one can be passionate towards can either haunt you or be very easy for students at a very young age. With the question "what do you want to be when you grow up", by members of your family at every single holiday can set you into panic mode if you haven't figured out your life yet. I for one, was that student that panicked. To be honest I never dreamed of what I wanted to be growing up or what I could see myself doing. I chose to become an occupational therapist because I knew I wanted to work in the health care industry, and where I always believed I could truly excel. It wasn't until my past experiences during my undergrad and after graduation that my passion to become an occupational therapist not only became my goal but it became my destiny.…

Everybody has their own personality, values and interest that describe who we are and who we want to become. It is our own way of showing others what our purpose is in life, the career choice which best suits us and what our wisdom of words are for people to remember us by. My career choice was first an English Professor with a minor in journalism but now I am leaning more towards becoming a journalist. My personality, values and interests would go along well with occupations. My personality characteristics would benefit me well in Post- Secondary Education because I am outgoing, kind, helpful, friendly and warming to many people. I like activities that require working with people to teach them or help them in some way. I also enjoy the satisfaction…

A career is a job or profession that someone does for a long time. To me it has another meaning: a career is a job or profession that you enjoy. You do not have to dread your day, but instead love what you do every day. The careers that I have thought about would be nursing and a pharmacist. The reason why I would choose nursing is because you have the chance to help people on a daily basis. The reason why I would choose to be a pharmacist is because you can make a lot of money and still be in the medical field.…

Choosing the right job can be quite unchallenging because this is how you prepare yourself for better things to come ahead in life. When I was younger in my teens, I would jump from job to job, until I got married and eventually ended up joining the US Navy. Choosing a major may be a tricky one because you really don’t know if it may follow-up to the right or perfect career as you wanted it. Picking the best career is a tough choice to make these days. There are so many choices, so many different aspects to consider. Money, the job setting, and how a specific job will affect family life. Growing up I thought about many different options, such as being a professional, specifically a marine-biologist, becoming a soccer star, and owning my own bar-club, can show the different areas I have thought about doing. For the time being though I am fairly certain on my current decision to major in Art and becoming a graphic artist. In the future, I also hope to one day own my own place, either a studio or a production company.…
