• People of Kerala: An amazing race of people, following a unique lifestyle-the perfect blend of traditional, time-honored practices and progressive, innovative trends.
• Kerala Food: A delectable cuisine, unique to the region which involves the locally available ingredients such as coconuts, seafood, rice etc.
• Performing Arts: An interesting combination of dance, music, theater and mythology. Apart from the famous folk dances viz. Kathakali, Koothu and Mohiniyattom, a tradition of ritual arts are such as Theyyam, Kummattikkali and Mudiyettu has also been kept alive
• Kerala Music: Like the rest of South India, Kerala's classical music is essentially Carnatic, raag - taal based music. It is also famed for Sopanam. Music is an integral part of the every day life. There are the traditional folk songs for occasions such as marriages and childbirth and also the devotional songs such as Ayyappanpattu and Maripattu. A number of musical instruments including wind and string instruments, percussions are played and practiced in Kerala.
• Kerala Painting: Other than the unique art of body painting for specific dance forms such as Kathakali, Kerala has a rich style of oil paintings. While the state identifies with the rest of India in its use of henna to paint parts of the body such as hands and feet, Kerala has also its singular art forms of floor drawings and paintings (Kalamezhuthu).
• Kerala Handicrafts: Among the variety of handicrafts produced in Kerala, the more renowned are sandalwood items, woodcraft, handlooms and metal work (especially brass and copper).
• Kerala Martial Arts and Sports: Sports and Martial Arts take prime importance in the life of a Malayali. Not only are sport competitions (such as rowing competitions) part of the Festival customs, there is, in Kerala, a tradition of martial arts training. Many of these are holistic physical development systems and are tauht in combination with ayurveda, accupressure, herbalism etc.

    In the 21th centuries, many people may think that performing arts is a subject that existed for the teenagers who cannot excel well in studies. Most of the people also think that this subject is only for the teenagers that wanted to be an actress or singer, but actually this is a totally illogical mindset. However, the definitions of performing arts are actually a term that used to explain a national art that brings a message of a drama, rather than just present for its own interest only and without any of the moral values. Furthermore, performing art is usually means that a performance that are presented to audiences, but it does not representing a canonical theatrical play which does not refers to describe a group of artificial characters in normal script. Therefore, it allowed interaction between the performer and audience, such as spoken words or even the audience did not give any response it is still a response. The origin of performing arts can be found in many countries especially those European countries. As for Asia countries, performing art is still not very commonly use in schools. People choose to study performing arts for many reasons, it included many personal beneficiations or just because they enjoy it. However, people have variety opinions towards how performing arts affect their life and is this really a waste of time, money and resource for studying this particular subject. In my opinion, studying performing arts is not a waste of time. It is because performing in front of a crowd; no matter it is a large or even a small audience; can be very astounding but during practice time, people will more or little grow in confidence by seeing their improvements, they will be able to use this confidence in every phase in their daily life.     Different people have different opinions and views on what exactly folk music is. Sometimes people feel quite strongly as to whether something should or shouldn’t be labeled as folk music. In general view, there are many different types for the term “folk music” but we normally observe two of them. First one can be referred to as traditional music. it is normally very old and nobody really knows who the composer is but it’s a factthat it belongs to ordinary people withing a culture. It is the sort of music which is sung by the people or groups, not the type of music recorded in a studio or performed on a stage. People usually learn this music from their ancestors or by singing them with others. These tones are passed down from generations to generations and are loved by all generations. These tones are often changed as they are passed down from generations to generations. This change can be referred to as “folk process”. Although, folk music is loved by many people, these days, people don’t sing folk music as much as they used to do it in the past but it is still singed by the people sometimes on occasions and special traditional events. The oldest and very commonly singed folk music is the “happy birthday song”, camp songs, labor songs, protest songs, and children songs. (Hayden, 2003) Hence, any music composed in the idiom of its oral tradition is called as “folk music”. Despite of all these facts, folk music has still a greater influence on a country’s culture.
