Paris, My Sweet Dream
If I had a chance to travel, I would definitely love to go to Paris, France. Why I want to visit Paris the most out of all the other places in the world? Well, it is simply because I have always dreamt to go to Paris ever since I was five. I was inspired by some of the movies I used to watch when I was little. There is always a scene where there is romance or happiness and that scene will definitely take place in the beautiful capital of France, Paris. Besides, I would absolutely love to see the amazing Eiffel Tower with my very own eyes and not just in photographs or accessories.

Paris, the capital city of France is often known as the city of romance and is a city steeped in art and culture. Like many of its neighbouring European cities, Paris is full of beautiful architecture and museums showcasing fine art from some of the world’s most respected artists. Between the 1500s and 1800s, Paris was in fact the largest city in the entire world. The romantic reputation of Paris is likely to come from stories of Casanova’s presence in the city and his seductive and promiscuous ways.

Three of the most famous Parisian landmarks are the 12th-century cathedral Notre Dame de Paris, the Napoleonic Arc de Triomphe and the 19th-century Eiffel Tower. It has been my biggest dream ever to visit all of these places because I feel great and enthusiastic when it comes to travelling. I am curious about the landscape and the scenery in Paris. I am pretty sure that it would look fantastic just like I dreamt it would be.

In addition, I am interested to witness the lifestyle in Paris like their cuisines, houses, songs and clothes too. The largest opera houses of Paris are the 19th century Opéra Garnier and the modern Opéra Bastille; the former tends towards the more classic ballets and operas, and the latter provides a mixed repertoire of classic and modern. "La Marseillaise" or the Song of Marseille is the national anthem of France. I know I can get

When I first saw the painting, Hôtel de France, painted by Stuart Davis, I thought that was just an ordinary painting of a building and a street that is pretty, especially in a way that looks old-fashioned. I had to come to realize that the painting was painted from what the painter sees from the scene. The painting is a picture of a four-story building of the hotel named, Hôtel de France. On the left side of the painting are the sides of other buildings. In front of the Hôtel de France building is a public urinal building. Beside it is an advertising kiosk selling some stuff and beside this kiosk is a lamp post. We can also see parts of the street. This painting was made at Paris, France particularly in the area of Montparnasse during the stay of Stuart Davis Hôtel de France in 1928 to 1929. The purpose of the painting was to convey the American artist’s feeling of great pleasure in the city being the only one of its kind. The work of Davis…

Paris becomes a model for the Grand National capital city because of its impressive public buildings, but mostly because of the work of Haussmann. Before the transformation, Paris was extremely congested, dirty and unpleasant. It was not unified and it had a lack of an effective transportation system. After Haussmann’s work, Paris becomes a model not only within France but also internationally because of its ideal environment and power.…

In the reading “The Environs of Paris” by T.J. Clark, Clark speaks about Paris and the surrounding areas, Argenteuil in particular. Beginning in the 1860s, modernity was starting to take precedence. Throughout the reading, Clark provides insight on where examples of modernism may have been detected, if not by everyone, at least by the individuals that could stand to be in the presence of the petite bourgeoisie. These depictions were rare, and Clark sought out to investigate why this was so. The way a landscape painting was to be understood was particularly affected when the railway lines were laid down.…

Luc Sante in this book reveal the dark side of the city of Paris, in historically how the city evolved, and what and how the dark side of the city of Paris. Nowaday, the old, crowded, swarming, surly cities are at least half forgotten. But in this great chronicle, Luc Sante recall when Paris was rougher, when the group poor, ough, unregulated, underworld, thrived there; maybe Paris was also less rough, in that there was room for nearly everyone all the way down the social ladder. Hanging over The Other Paris is the contemporary curse that perhaps hit Paris first, of city that have become bland transnational stopping places for the privilege. Magisterial as ever, Luc Sante returns us to the flavor, texture, savor, shout, and clash of the by gone city.…

Talking about dream destinations, first on my list is London. It is the capital city of England and the United Kingdom. London is the most populous region, urban zone and area in the United Kingdom. London's buildings are too diverse to be characterized by any particular architectural style. There, you can see the Big Ben clock tower which was completed in 1858; the famous red telephone box which is a familiar sight on the streets of the United Kingdom and the double-decker bus which was said to be the best way to see London. Also, a sight to behold is the Buckingham Palace which is the official residence of the British monarch.…
