Born March 26th, 1948, Steven Victor Tallarice, AKA Steven Tyler, the lead singer of the Rock ‘N Roll band Aerosmith, was the second of two children. Steven was born in New York City, and later moved to Yonkers, New York . He attended Roosevelt High School but was expelled for drug use, and later graduated from Jose Quintanos School for Young Professionals. Steven was the son of a classical music teacher. Steven learned how to play several instruments including, piano, drums, and harmonica, but later switched to vocals after discovering the Beetles. In the 1960’s Tyler played drums for many bands including, Chain Reaction, The Chain, and William Proud. In 1969, Steven met Joe Perry (lead guitarist) in Sunapee, New Hampshire. In 1970 they met up again in Boston to form Aerosmith with bassist Tom Hamilton. After a while the band added a second guitarist Ray Tabano(who was soon replaced by Brad Whitford) , and drummer Joey Kramer. In 1972, Aerosmith signed a recording contract with Columbian Records. Aerosmith came out with hit albums like “Get your Wings”, “Toys in the Attic”, “Rocks”, and “Draw the Line”. These albums produced hits like, “Dream On”, “Walk this Way”, and “Sweet Emotion”. Aerosmiths first five albums went platinum. As Aerosmiths’ fame grew, Steven and Joe became known as the toxic twins, because of there heavy drug use. In 1979 Joe Perry left the band and vowed never to play with Aerosmith again, In 1981 Brad Whitford left the band. Steven kept replacing members and moved on. On February 14th, 1984, Perry and Whitford showed up at an Aerosmith concert and backstage, agreed to play with the band again. So, the original members of Aerosmith embarked on a come back tour they called Back in the Saddle. Even though the band was back together they still had one problem. Stevens’s heavy heroin addiction. In 1986, the band held a meeting and convinced Tyler to go into drug rehab. In 1995 the band took a break to spend time with their families.
