The pop/ rock genre that the Goo Goo Dolls play today is what excites me more than the punk that they played in the beginning. The band in the beginning was made up of Robby Takac, John Rzeznik, and George Tutaska. Then seventeen years ago Mike Malinin replaced George. After recording their fourth album, the band split up due to John’s belief that George as not committed enough and the band’s money issues, Robby convinced John to reform the band without George (Heath). The Goo Goo Dolls started out as a punk band, but now they are a pop/ rock band. During their punk years Robby sang most of the vocals, but since the release of their third album, John does most of the vocals. They started out on Metal Blade records, but now they reside with Warner Brothers’ records. . In November of 1996, the Goo Goo Dolls filed a lawsuit against Metal Blade over issues regarding payment of royalties due to the band (Verna). With all these changes, the Goo Goo Dolls are constantly evolving to keep themselves relevant to this ever-changing music world.…

After a performance on February 2, 1959, several of the performers elected to fly in a plane chartered by Holly rather than ride on the tour bus with a broken heater in sub-zero temperatures. Valens earned a seat on the plane by winning a coin toss with Crickets guitarist Tommy Allsop and was killed along with Holly, the Big Bopper, and the 21-year-old pilot when the plane crashed in a cornfield. Richie Valens has to be one of my favorite musicians to this day, his music brings back good nostalgic memories and he broke tons of boundaries for Hispanic artist all over the globe. Though he does not have much music out, the very few songs that were released to the public did very good for him. I would have been cool to see what else he would have made if he didn’t die in that plane crash. He was so young and was doing big things, Rest In…

The band you’re used to seeing perform together now didn’t look like that in the beginning. The two best friend duo you see now used to be a trio. After Tyler had idea of starting a band, the original Twenty One Pilots were formed in 2009 in Columbus, Ohio. The three-manned-band included Tyler Joseph, and his two friends Nick Thomas and Chris Salih. When asked about the band’s name in an interview with Tori Thomas from Under The Gun Review Tyler said “I was taking a theater class at Ohio State and one of the plays we were studying was called “All My Sons” by Arthur Miller. It’s been awhile since I read the play, but the gist of the plot line is this guy who makes air plane parts for the war at the time (WWII), found out that his parts were faulty, so he comes to a moral crossroads. He has to make a decision to send the parts out or recall the parts. Really it’s what’s the right thing to do.…

Everly_Brothers I was only seven years old when I first heard the Everly Brothers singing Bye Bye Love, a million selling hit by a harmonising duo that even then I found delightful, and so I became a fan. That may be why I found it so tragic hearing that Phil Everly of the has died at the age of 74. That close-harmony singing by Phil and older brother Don, made the Everly Brothers one of the biggest star acts of the day. The iconic singer died of complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, in the Los Angeles suburb of Burbank, having fought long and hard for life. It is an undoubted fact that this duo profoundly influenced musicians of those times - so much so that Beatles John Lennon and Paul McCartney started out calling themselves…

R: There is not a specific starting date, actually. Probably the milestone has been 2013, when Malintenti Dischi has released our first EP. At that time the three of us used to have his own experience with music: for instance, Antonio had his own band, called the DiMartino, where he is still the leader. I was part of a former band, the Waines. But we felt like we did not have the chance of doing music just for the pleasure of doing it, you know what I mean? So we decided, along with Angelo, to start over without breaking the arrangements with the “origin” bands, just for doing “Music for music’s sake”, and to have room for experimentation and visionary…

The idea of the ‘Club’ became extremely popular after the deaths of four famous musicians, all of who died between 1969 and 1971, within a two-year timespan. Brian Jones, who was the founder and guitarist of The Rolling Stones, Jimi Hendrix who was the guitarist, singer and songwriter of The Jimi Hendrix Experience, Janis Joplin who was the vocalist and songwriter for Big Brother and the Holding Company and Jim Morrison who was the lead singer and lyricist for The Doors. These musicians were some of the most influential performers of their time but all had lifestyles affected by drug and alcohol abuse that resulted in their early deaths.…
