After completion of my four-years bachelors’ degree I have got a chance to work with two companies, of which one was a well known multinational organization and the other was a startup company. The common thing between both the companies is communication or the way of interacting with people play an important role. It showed me how important it is the way you carry out the tasks and be clear and precise in conveying the message properly to others. In my second company I even had to interview, recruit and train several people for the internship positions. This involved developing great rapport with them, making them feel at ease and make them understand the company’s goals and objectives. My career goal Is to become a successful Human Resource Manager for a multinational Company. This is the field where I see greater potential for growth in the coming future. The prospect of interacting with people on a frequent and daily basis greatly attracts me to the job.

NYIT represents an attractive program for me because I have gone through the curriculum it offers one not only the theoretical approach but also with high practical knowledge which is required for current work –life scenarios and improving one’s expertise. It offers courses focusing on key areas and concepts that match my unique interests and demands. This would help me understand the strategies in Human resource management well and apply in the development and progress of the organizations. Also, a master’s degree in Human Resource Management from a reputed university would add on as a extra credential in pursuing my dream of becoming Human Resource professional and working as HR manager for a Multi-national organization. If accepted at NYIT, it would not only enhance my academic background in the field I choose but will also help in gain an hands on experience in the management skills. I’m a person extremely committed to my career goals and I strongly believe attending NYIT would help me in achieving them.

My case is the one of fourteen year old James Ingraham vs. his middle school principle Willie J. Wright Jr. James’ parents are suing the Middle school their son attends (Charles R. Drew Junior High School) because they feel that their son was condemned to cruel and unusual punishment and has lost his liberty as a citizen of the United States. On October 6, 1970, Ingraham and another student were called into the principal’s office. James’ offense was failing to leave the school auditorium stage when instructed to do so by a teacher. Once in the principal’s office, James announced his innocence against the accusations of the teacher. Mr. Wright was unconvinced and ordered Ingram to bend over the table so that Wright could spank him using the discipline paddle. Ingraham refused to do so, and Wright began to force James’ head down on the table. The assistant Principal, Lemmie Deliford, assisted Wright by holding Ingraham’s legs. Wright then proceeded to strike Ingram with the paddle over 20 times, resulting in Ingram getting a hematoma. The hematoma resulted in Ingraham being hospitalized and requiring rest for eleven days.…

In his book A Shopkeeper’s Millenium, Paul E. Johnson tries to analyze the conditions under which religious revivals occur. Focusing on Rochester New York, he examines Charles Finnley’s revival in the 1830s and the state of the city before, during, and after the revival. Ignoring much of what has already been written about the event, Johnson uses almost entirely primary sources to argue his point. His point is that the religious revival of 1830 was, at least in Rochester, a successful attempt by the town’s elites to retain control over the rest of society, which they felt was slipping away.…
