Diet, exercise and lifestyle is one of the most important aspects to function daily for a person especially paediatric nurses. Having a balances diet, to include all nutrients allows the body to function throughout the day. Exercising regularly improves fitness, reduces the risk of obesity and allows you to feel better about yourself. The lifestyle of a paediatric nurse has a knock on effect on the individual’s life. By working long hours during the day or working a night shift effects a nurse’s social life. When working as a nurse, food and diet is an important key, eating breakfast, which is one of the most important meals of the day. Having a breakfast allows the body to be energised all day and stops the person nibbling at other foods throughout the day. Nursing is the most demanding and busiest job so skipping meals for a nurse may be a regular thing. Skipping meals can have an effect on the nurse’s body.

Having an unbalances diet will result in the body having no energy and feeling tired. When working as a nurse, energy is required throughout the whole day and exhausting plays a big part in a nurse’s life. If these two factors become a regular thing, burnout can be a problem. When having an unbalanced diet and failing to take regular exercise can lead to a non-functional life for a nurse and lead to health risks. Failing to take regular exercise can cause the body to be tired and no energy all day. If this continues on a regular basis it can lead to weight gain. When a nurse works long shifts either day or night there social life starts to decline from tiredness. To improve their lifestyle, nurses need to get enough sleep to get rid of the tiredness, fit workouts on you days out, before or after work, ensure to keep well hydrated and get foods rich in fibre to give to a long lasting release of energy throughout the
