PHBC: A Formal Analysis
How Rainer wrote is applied to the context of PHBC in many ways. It seems PHBC pastor’s preaching and the friendliness of the greeters are reasons the unchurched, consider joining. It is noticed the leadership, staff, and congregants are the reasons the unchurched leave. The pastor is not a “superman pastor” (Rainer 2001, 66), however he is a good preacher (with conviction) and has good personal-skills. Regrettably, the unchurched are not realized by him. There is a failure to connect with the unchurched outside of the pulpit. Nevertheless, evidence shows his diligence in the study of the Word, sermon preparation, and dependence on leadership.
