Overcoming Obstacles In My Life
One of the biggest obstacles in my life was when my father lost his job last summer. As a child I never feared that my father or mother would ever be in trouble, or lose their jobs. I always saw life as perfect and complete happiness where nothing bad ever happens to people who only do good. I was completely oblivious to the hardships that life brings and was never grateful for all the things that my parents did, but that all changed when my father lost his job. It was a very hard time for our family because my father had just recently switched to a financial advisor, having finally taken all the tests and passing all requirements necessary. He has always tried many things and we had hoped that finally he would be able to very successful. He …show more content…
We mowed the properties of real estate companies, so the homes were vacant. At first I was scared because these were parts of the city I was not familiar with, but I knew that my family was going through a hard time.I was happy to be able to help my parents after they had done so much for me, and as a family we were able to overcome the obstacle and we have become closer than ever.As a teenager I was just learning about who I was going to be for the rest of my life. This was a critical point of my life where my morals and goals were set and became the person I am today. This tragedy not only muddled my outlook on life but also made me completely aware of the struggles and pains of existence. I was no longer oblivious to the hardships and struggles of life and the fear of uncertainty. I was shaped into the person that I am today. Despite what occurred, my father soon after went back to the field of aviation which is what he loves, and had done for a very long part of his life which made him very happy and meant that our family was back to normal. While I was not the one who lost the job, the impact it had on my family was drastic, and the event has shaped me into the person that I am

Obstacles and hardships are what shape a person. One of my many obstacles I had to face was getting use to my freshman year in high school. Due to me going to an Early college my freshman experience may have been a little different. Transitioning was one of the most difficult parts of the whole experience due to me not being able to really grasp what I had gotten myself into. My teachers were very firm in conducting their teaching strategies. I can recall a moment in time where I had turned in one of my first papers for my English class I was so excited for her to read it because I had worked all night on it trying to perfect it. A couple days passed and I got the paper back it was so many read marks on it if I didn't know any better I would…

Life has been rough, but I’m a very determined person. It all started when I turned fourteen years old. Being this young really made me wretched at the fact that I had to work for my necessities and wants. Watching other teenagers get their desires made me realize how challenging life was for oneself. I didn’t appreciate my dad’s actions and how they contrived my life. At the time, I was just an ordinary teenager wanting to be equivalent to others and having materialistic things.…

This obstacle that occurred taught me many things. It taught me that I am blessed, and I should not take things for granted. The Lord could have taken my father from me that night, instead he didn’t. He blessed my family with us letting have my father. I tend to take things for granted when I shouldn't because there are people out there who do not have what my family and I have. I need to live everyday as if it is my last because no one is ever guaranteed the next day. Since that obstacle, I have been more thankful for what I have, I have been doing everything I can to make sure my parents are proud of me. I make good grades, I am graduating high school with my Associates of Arts Degree. I do the best I can in my college classes because I know some people are not even able to go to school let alone be dual enrolled between high school and college. The best lesson I learned from this obstacle is that no matter how big the obstacle may be, to always keep pushing through and do your best. Even when things seem like they’ll never get better they will, just pray about it. It taught me to never give up, my father never gave up fighting for his life, so I’ll never give up pushing towards my…

Everyone in life will have their own personal obstacles they will have to face in life. Some people will mentally shut down and give up when faced with a challenge. Others will take their challenges and use them to better themselves. The obstacles that I have faced in my life have never hit me harder than they have these past few months. This being my senior year, I always expected it to be the most laid back and relaxing year of my high school career. When in fact I set myself up for one of the biggest challenges of my life so far, by signing up for multiple online college classes, helping out with activities all over the school, and playing football for the first time since freshman year. Although, under all this immense pressure, this is where my true colors came out. I didn’t stop working to my full potential,…

The sweat poured down my body. I knew I had to give everything in this moment. Right here right now soaked and drained. Every breath I take in I realize I am overcoming everything. Obstacles in life are very much like the increasing weight and strain I apply to my body. The love I have for bodybuilding is rooted with a dark past. I have developed a new kind of mental toughness through my competitive drive to continually better myself everyday. The decision to get deeper into this spurred from a terrible place in my life. Living in an abusive home when I was younger taught me that no one should ever be able to hold power over you.…

I rise when I am told. I slow and speed when needed. I am tough. I am rugged. I comfort you and protect you. I see no color, race, religion, or gender. I grab life by the wheel and steer through it with ease. I roar, I screech, I growl. I glide around the road of life. Every morning awake in the shadows of comfort. With minor tweaks to my bodywork I am ready for the day. I turn my key and open the garage, ready to emerge from the shadows of comfort and drive the road of life. For in my life I will see many friends, enemies, and fans. My friends will build me up to become the fiercest car on the track. They will help fix me when I collide with obstacles. My friends will guide me through the road of life. My enemies try to overtake me and pass…
