Osteopathic Medical Program Admission Essay
My pursuit to attend Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine-Biomedical Sciences program is to further strengthen my foundational science and research knowledge. Additionally, I strongly believe this will be an opportunity to prepare for entry and humbly prove that, I will be a successful candidate for a Doctor of Osteopathic Program at any school; preferably your distinguished Osteopathic Medical School. This is to achieve my unwavering goal to pursue a career in Medicine and Research.
Growing up poor in Ghana, I experienced poverty and inadequacy in health care in a way that helps me appreciate its essence. After an unfortunate incident, I lost my mother to an asthmatic attack when the ill-equipped and short-staffed community clinic …show more content…
Furthermore, I have been studying extensively to retake the Medical College Admission Test in January 2017. I have also assisted many of my students to prepare for the NCLEX, OAT, and PANCE with 100% pass rate. Moreover, I have shared my own failures in the MCAT to help others not to repeat my mistake; a very humbling experience. I believe I have gained some transferable standardized test knowledge to prepare better for the MCAT. However, I am aware that my MCAT score history is not favorable and I believe that I need to prove that I will be a successful medical student who can also pass each Licensure Board Exams, thus why I chose to pursue this degree from your prestigious Biomedical Science program. I am strongly convinced that becoming a student in this program will academically prepare me and also prove to admission committees that I will be a successful medical student. In addition, I would also like to gain more research exposure and understanding of the uniqueness of an Osteopathic Medical School apart from the shadowing and research I have
