Orthodontist Essay
Each day orthodontists help people have the smile they have always wanted. Although there are many responsibilities, it is a very rewarding job. Orthodontists work 40 hour work weeks. They work in your own practice fitting and adjusting orthodontic appliances, including braces, Invisalign, rubber bands, etc. to patients teeth. When orthodontists are not fitting appliances they are making or adjusting patients plans to a perfect smile. Doing this every day can be very stressful because they have to be on time and stay on a schedule, but it is all worth it when orthodontists can see a patient with a smile they love. Even though they may not be saving lives, they are making some peoples a lot better. To be an orthodontist it takes a responsible person, they have many tasks to complete every day. Orthodontists should be dependable, have lots of integrity, be analytical thinkers, and have a concern to help people (Occupation Details for Orthodontists “NP”). Some values orthodontists should have are independence achievement and recognition (Orthodontists “O*NET NP”). They need a state license to practice orthodontics. To get this license you will need a good score on the DAT (Dental Admission Test). You will also need to obtain certificates from the ADA (American Dental Association). An orthodontist needs to go through about twelve years of school, you need a bachelor's degree, a dental degree, and an orthodontic degree. Even though this may be a lot of schooling it is all worth
