Oreo's Effect On Human Behavior
June 18th, 2009, Oreo, a one-year old Pit Bull Mix, was thrown off the roof of a six story apartment building in Brooklyn. She was immediately rushed to the ASPCA Hospital to be treated for two broken legs and a fractured rib. Happily, Oreo recovered from her physical injuries. However, the still traumatized Oreo starting to exhibit signs of aggression toward humans. Because of this Oreo couldn't have any association with other dogs, and very little contact with humans. Oreo would have to be alone until she regained her trust in humans. In the beginning of November, Pets Alive offered Oreo sanctuary at one of their no kill shelters, with hopes of working with her until she was ready for adoption.
