Oral Dentistry Personal Statement
Humans are not born with passion. Passion is something discovered through trial and error. I am fascinated with dentistry because of the passion involved in it, my respect for the dentists and oral surgeons who put so much effort into diagnosing my father's illness, and my passion for science.
When I was in secondary school, my dad was diagnosed with oral cancer. It was a tough time for our family, but we were not alone. The oral surgeons were always by our side, consistently providing hope and reassurance throughout the treatment when we needed it the most. During this period, I witnessed their talents, passion, and professionalism in finding the best treatments for my father. Thanks to their efforts, my father was able to fully recover. This was the point when I realized that dentistry was the career that I wanted to pursue. With my love of science and motivation to help people in the same way that my father's oral surgeons had left an impact on my family, I desired to be a dentist.

In my free time, I often decorate my room, my nails, or make handmade presents for my friends and family. These activities increase my manual dexterity skills, which are vital for dentists. Also, to counter the stress of studying and life, I play badminton every weekend with my friends. It allows me to develop hand to eye coordination, increases my ability to make split-second decisions, and improve my teamwork skills.
Aside from loving working with my hands, I like interacting with people. Every year, I participate in the Big Event, the biggest volunteer event in my school. Last year, I painted the doors in the thrift store. I was in a small group with two freshman students. We helped each other and shared interesting experiences during the work. The volunteer activities gave me a chance to thank my community and developed my communication
