Online Home Based Jobs
Chapter 1
THE PROBLEM AND ITS SCOPE
INTRODUCTION
Rationale of the Study
The demand of home-based online jobs is high. It is becoming the ideal choice of many because it is simple and that anyone can take advantage of. Some people think that home-based online jobs are impossible and all they see about home-based online jobs is nothing more than a scam system. There are a lot of home-based online workers these days who have paved the way for attaining positions.
According to Ryan (2009), there are advantages and disadvantages in working online. The main advantage is that you will be able to do the jobs sitting anywhere in the world. You will simply need to have an internet connection and a computer in working condition. You will be the boss and you will be able to decide your working hours as you please. For the disadvantages, during the initial stages, the money flow might be good. However, just because you make a few hundred dollars more does not necessarily mean that more work will be available in the coming days.
Whatever be the disadvantages of online jobs, there are still honest people out there, making a comfortable living doing such work. Risk factor is there, but it has always been there, so you will have to take the risks and must be willing to work under pressure. Deadlines have to be kept and maintained at all times and you must ensure that the job is completed and submitted before the deadline as cited by Ryan (2009). Hence, Leonard and Thorns (2006) provided good comment in the effectiveness of people who are employed on-line, disregarding income and time stated.
As Leonard and Thorns (2006) pointed out, more people are increasingly employed on-line due to its effectiveness on on-line service communication. The reason for conducting this study is to know the fast-growing advancement of computer technology in Asia, specifically in the Philippines to know if it provides for the betterment of jobs for on-line workers.

The role of the call center is growing in the service industry. Our vision statement recognizes the position of call centers as technological advances are made to deliver superb customer service relations. Technology will be the deciding factor in achieving objectives. The larger customer relations firms are poised to continue out-sourcing their services which leaves a void for customer service relations opportunities in the United States. Our vision to continue to grow our work-at-home program is a strategic measure and a competitive advantage that we feel will continue to set us apart from the competition. The overall logistics of the work-at-home program must be modified to ensure the success of the candidates that desire to service client customers from home. The internet offers the potential to achieve a global market success for any business. Businesses that go online increase their opportunities to reach their target market and is cost effective when compared with other forms of marketing. It creates opportunities, benefits and challenges for a business but in the long run is worth it for the added publicity and hopefully profits. Going online has benefited many organisations including Tesco PLC. I will be using Tesco as my example of the benefits, opportunities and challenges for a business by using the internet. Tesco has operated on the Internet since 1994 and started an online shopping service named 'Tesco Direct' in 1997 which gave their customers the availability to shop online and have the items/groceries delivered straight to their house. It is also possible to order groceries online to be delivered to the customer’s door.…

Another job of the future is the in-person services category. Much like the routine production service jobs, in-person services involve repetitive tasks. These jobs do not require much education. Workers are paid per-hour worked. However, the difference in in-person services is that these jobs must be done face-to-face or person-to-person and can not be traded worldwide. Instead of working with machines, metal, data, or fabric these workers work directly with their customers. Examples of these jobs include waitresses, hotel workers, janitors, cashiers, hospital attendants, house cleaners, taxi drivers, etc.. These employees must be reliable, punctual, and tractable.…
