There are many explanations to the extent of individual business decisions that explain deterioration in working conditions for many workers. One example is how successful a company stays in business. Selling a product that is in high demand and generates more revenue for the company will help the company continue to stay in business. When a company shows signs of loss in profit, one of the reasons may be due to the lack of demand in their product. To keep the business surviving the company will need to learn how to change and adapt to the growing needs in the marketplace (Robbins & Judge, 2013, p.20). Managers will need to stimulate their employees’ creativity and tolerance for change. Business organizations does have a responsibility to ensure both employees have a secure job with good working conditions and to the shareholders because with better working conditions this will keep the worker satisfy and in turn it will help increase the profitability for both the company and the shareholder. Business organizations have the responsibility to enforce moral and ethical behavior to their employee. Ample evidence shows that employee who are more satisfied and treated fairly are more willing to engage in the above-beyond citizenship behavior so vital in the contemporary business environment marketplace (Robbins & Judge, 2013, p.26). Withdrawal behavior is one of the alternative measures of organizational performance that can change the focus on business leaders. An employee withdrawal can have a negative effect on an organization. It can cost the company loss in revenue due to their lack of performance but also affect other employees’ productivity (Robbins & Judge, 2013, p.27).     Ethical behavior within a company is very important to its future and success. This type of behavior is not just important for the employees to follow, but for the entire company. In 2001, a failing company called Enron was involved in numerous unethical behaviors. For example, Enron’s Chief Financial Officer temporarily suspended their “code of ethics” not once, but twice in order to partake in personal financial gain.
