Nursing Career Interest Assessment

Career Interest and Assessment The career I chose to do my career research project was on nursing. When I did my career interest assessment and learning styles I found out that my learning style was tactile. A tactile learner is a learner is a person who learns best from hands on experiences. I think the nursing career is best for me and matched closely to my learning styles. When becoming a nurse I know that it is important to first listen to my patients auditory and be able to diagnose my patients through touch. Being able to examine my patients physically is important in order to be able to understand and learn from them. They can work in both inpatient and outpatient ,or work independently or as a treatment team . Nurse practitioner educate the patients about preventive care ,and prescribed treatments. Nurse practitioners can also do physicals and serve as the patient's health care provider. The daily duties for a nurse practitioner is , to record the medical history and symptoms of the patient , also to administer the medicines and treatments , set plans up for the patient care , take observation of the patients and record the observation , talk with other doctors, and to tell the patients what to do for after treatment .They also give warning signs if you have a disease or if you have some type of health problem , they can run screening or blood drives . Im also have to have good communicating skills because in this career I'm a going to have to communicate with patients and explain things to them .I'm going to have to have good decision making skills because if i make the wrong decision it could affect a patient's life thats why its important to have good decision making skill and problem solving , making decisions and problem solving skills uses the same process . It's good to having problem solving skills because nurse practitioner uses problem solving on a daily basis when they solve clinical problems but the process is less formal . Yes your physical appearance is important because that's how most people judge you based of your , clean scrubs , neat hair ,and clean shoes . People that look sloppy are categorized up under being lazy and unorganized and if you look like that then most people are not going to want you to be their care provider
