Nhatrang Beach
Descriptive essay Everybody loves going on vacation, especially going to the beach. Dennis Wilson of the Beach Boys said, “On the beach, you can live in bliss.” There are many beaches all over the world that people enjoy going to for different reasons; however, Nhatrang Beach in Vietnam is a vibrant beach where we can enjoy our vacations at any time of day. As the sun rises, shines, and sets over Nhatrang Beach, it transforms the atmosphere of this magical place. As dawn appears on Nhatrang Beach, the sun rises upon the vast ocean like an egg yolk. The long shore line of the beach is full of sunshine, and the warm rays of the sun sparkle like millions of diamonds on the surface of the sea. Pure cool air blows from every direction in our faces. It makes us feel alert in the beautiful early morning. We can feel the fine, white sand wet and soft under our feet. The waves are slow and calm, rolling out and in to the shore, and as white as our grandmas’ hair. The water is extremely fresh and as clear as the blue sky. On a long, small street next to the beach, people are exercising. Their voices mix together with the sound of motorcycles. The beach city is gradually awakening. A new and vivid day on Nhatrang Beach has gently begun. At noon on Nhatrang Beach, the sun hangs in a cloudless, blue sky like a red-orange ball of fire in the distance. At this time, the atmosphere of Nhatrang Beach is more exciting than in the morning. We can hear the wind blowing through the palm trees and birds singing in the trees near the beach walkway. The ocean is whispering to the sunny shore by continually rolling the waves. Not too far from the water’s edge, tourists are sunbathing. While they are trying to absorb as much sunlight as possible on their skin, the brisk wind is coming off the waves, cool and briny, mixed together with the smell of many different kinds of sun creams. Everyone lying on the beach seems very comfortable and at peace. Far out on the beach

You see, I do not necessarily care for the blistering hot days southern Florida is known for. I enjoy the beach the most when it is cooler; especially when it has just rained. I sit back in my beach chair and look up to the sky. The clouds create a pleasant, refreshing blanket from the hot sun. I take a deep breath and, I can smell the rain that has just fallen. Now, the clouds are breaking and letting little slivers of sunlight shine threw. The new sun seems to change the color of everything. The sand is a bright white with speckles of glittering shells. The ocean is a deep shade of aqua with the sunlight glistening over it. This is…

Waking up to the sound of the waves crashing, vendors on the beach are offering fresh cold coconuts; children are playing in the warm, equatorial water. The beach is serene and quiet compared to the wild parties of the night before. The sun is warming; the world is coming alive and the day beginning. You walk a little further and accommodate your route to avoid the build up of smashed bottles in the sand. A homeless man lies ahead of you. A plastic bag washes up on the shore along with a dead blowfish.…

The thick tree lines and vast open fields bring a sense of freedom and grandeur. The brilliant light shining like beacon of hope with the soft calming breeze flowing across the field is refreshing and pure like a baby after a warm bath. The air seems to be free and clear of the city’s poisonous air pollution and the soft sounds of birds makes it all too refreshing, like a beautiful day on the beach. With quiet clean monuments and buildings dancing across the landscape, the look of peace and quiet seems to be present at last. As the blue crisp skies begin to darken across the brilliant blue pond, the shimmering light hitting the trees is as beautiful as the sun setting on the Catalina Island on a bright blue day with soft clouds flowing across the sky. I have the taste of fresh fruit on my tongue in my mouth as I take a long deep breath, and realize how much the soft green grass adds to the peacefulness in the park. I can hear the cheerful wildlife scampering beyond the tree line, like young children frolicking in their mother’s front yard. As the quiet darkness sets in, and with the city brilliant lights in the background, the serene park makes the bustling city seem peaceful once…

We jumped back in the car and hit the road. There wasn’t much to see heading into California. It is very similar to Vegas, in that, they are both lush with green grass and towering palm trees. But once we hit Laguna Beach, it was like a whole new world. It was a small town filled with very friendly people. Shiny, luxurious cars lined the streets, at least every third one being a convertible. People filled the beaches and streets, taking in the sunshine, some walking dogs, others bordered by what looked like family or friends. When we pulled up to our hotel, a quaint little Inn; spitting distance from the beach, we were pleasantly surprised. A two level spread of rooms surrounding a swimming pool that was accompanied by a hot sauna made out of an actual wine barrel. The nightly rate wasn’t much, the most we could afford for the planned two nights booked in a paradise called Laguna, so we had prepared for less. We checked in and walked straight to the beaches. Words cannot describe the sights of these beaches. The tide was low and we were able to walk right onto the coral reefs and admire the collected puddles of water and sea life. Beautiful pinkish, orange starfish and prickly, purple sea urchins lined the walls while small fish and hermit crabs explored the territory. The sky was the bluest blue and the sun beamed down on our skin, toasting us the perfect bronze, without a…

Upon my arrival at my hotel on the other side of the island, I feel a sense of total euphoria as I approach the front counter to check in. As I enter my hotel room the smell of fresh cut flowers fill my nose, the sound of local street performers playing music echoes in my head, and the sight of the pool’s beautiful blue water hits me like a ton of bricks. Immediately after I unpack my suitcase I quickly change into my swim shorts and head down to the pool. The combination of the sultry tropical heat, and the long walk to the hotel, had left me hot…

As soon as we got to our hotel room, I rushed to put on my swimsuit to go to the beach before the sun fully set. The hotel room looked like I had been there for a month, with clothes scattered over the marbled tiles in our hotel bathroom. The soft sand between my toes felt like fuzzy socks as I ran to meet the ocean’s tide. The foaming water washed away the sand as well as the stress I had accumulated at the airport. My worries about not having my parents with me and being in a new place fled as I watched the sun set behind the tall…

Jian quickly learned he loved being near the sea. When he was growing up, he had been far from the ocean and never wasted time going to the beach aside from short outings, but now that his room faced the shimmering stretch of blue and he was only an open window away from falling asleep to the sound of waves lapping against the sands and the smell of ocean air, Jian was a goner. If ever he one day accumulated enough money to purchase a house, he wanted to be by the…

As you approach the seaside, you are captivated by its beauty. The breathtaking panoramic view is enough to make your knees go weak. The bright, round sun blinds you as it appears rising and climbing like a yellow lemon on the horizon. The radiant rays of the neon sun reflect off of the untouched white sand that covers the ground as far as the eye can perceive. These perfectly placed grains of sand shine like flawlessly polished diamonds. Emerging from the pale sand are enormous jagged, kaki colored palm tree trunks that stand as tall as skyscrapers. Oversized, razor-sharp, emerald leaves hang from the tops while swaying back and forth in the light ocean breeze. The ocean water sparkles and glitters playfully like twinkling stars flickering in the night sky. The sights alone are enough to soften your soul with tranquility.…

Sitting down and enjoying the tranquil setting around them and not having one thought of significance. I watch with fascination at families playing and swimming in the exhilarating water as I too crave join in. Above me the sea gulls saw, hovered and circled around me, diving occasionally, into the water catching the unsuspecting fishes. In the distance I could sense the rhythmic waves murmuring, thumping, and crashing; competing with the sounds of the seagulls. The cloudless blue sky surrounded a peaceful atmosphere at the beach.…
