He says that the Logos united himself and took upon himself a mortal human body which would economically be able to suffer and die. However, because the Word is light and life, death could not control that which is life itself. As the Logos descended to hell penetrating the place of the dead, joined to the soul, the human nature, hell could not contain that which is life itself; the Logos broke free from the constraints of hell forever defeating death and condemnation of humanity. Life is the antithesis of death overpowers death and liberates the Matriarchs and Patriarchs of Israel, all of those who had waited for Christ’s appearance. It was only through uniting with human flesh that this could possibly occur.
