A consensus review process with fleet, type commander and maintenance activity representation during reference (a) and further review at NAVSEA Headquarters were conducted to incorporate changes into enclosure (1). The summary of changes is provided within the manual’s certification sheet. b. The TUM is hosted electronically at http://www.submepp.navy.mil/jfmm/index.htm and at https://mercury.tdmis.navy.mil. Request the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual Manager at SUBMEPP and the Naval Systems Data Support Activity update their applicable sites with this revised manual, and include it on their next editions of JFMM and Monthly Ship Initial Distribution CD-ROMs, respectively. The electronic file will be emailed/uploaded separately. Note that electronic and paper forms have different national stock numbers for the same form …show more content…
The purpose of this manual is to: a. b. Provide for personnel and ship safety and prevent damage to equipment. Prevent improper operation when a component, equipment, system or portion of a system is isolated or in an abnormal condition. Prevent improper operation when a freeze seal is applied to a system or when other safety devices such as blank flanges are installed for testing, maintenance, or casualty isolation. Provide a procedure for use when an instrument is unreliable or not in its normal operating condition. Provide standard tag-out procedures. Provide a procedure for control of hazardous
