Narrative Essay On High School
It seemed like a regular school day to everyone else, but to anyone on the football team they knew what was at stake which was the Suburban One National Conference Title. This game was a MUST win. The only thing was that we had to beat the North Penn Knights who have history of being one of the best public schools to play in the state. They also had won the conference last year before the Conference changed, so this was an important game on this chilly October day. As the day goes on all I can think about is this upcoming game, so school lets out and we do our typical pregame routine which would consist of doing the following; eat a meal, review plays in the gym, take a nap or rest, and then walk out to the stadium and get ready. We know the task ahead of us and we’re getting ready for our moment to shine. So for the pre-game (as odd as this sounds) we would always go to bathroom at the same time, then I would put my head phones in and take a walk around the track as everyone else is doing their own thing. As time goes on and we’re getting closer to …show more content…
So all they had to do was just score a touchdown and go for a 2 point conversion. So me and most of the beefier guys on the team go out for goal-line defense. They tell us to just fill up the gaps and that’s what we did. I had gotten double teamed which opened up a seam for our fullback to fill the hole and make the stop on the 2 yard-line. This was honestly one of the best moments of my career playing football. We went going crazy, sidelines cleared and the 5,000+ fans that we’re there we’re all just as excited for us. We weren't the underdogs but normally don't beat them, and to pull this win off at home made it 3 times better for us. I was so excited when we won, we celebrated in the locker room and then a few kids on the team went back to my house to have some beverages to enjoy this fine

Throughout my years of high school I have always strived for the best grades that I could attain, and they didn’t come easy. There were plenty of distractions that had driven me off course. Whether it was long hours at practice, volunteering for my community, or having a part-time job, I couldn’t let these activities hinder my grades. This purpose had sprung in me, to not only strive in my extracurricular activities, but also my schoolwork. Balancing both school and additional activities wasn’t a simple task. This led me to many sleepless nights, in which I had to tutor myself on certain topics I was struggling on. This ranged from my hardest subject, to studying extra hours on my hardest class, and even simple topics that I needed extra work…

During my current four years of high school, I have come to a conclusion that life is hard and the decisions you make are very important. This is my last year of high school and I’m the first one to graduate from my family. My grandmother tends to tell me that I don’t need college just a simple 7 month course of medical assistant or dentist assistant and not waste any more money. I’m lost, I wish people could help me out and tried to guide me in the direction of the right decision but is my life and choices. There has been times that my grandmother has told me that I am not going to be somebody in the future.…

I got on the bus looking for a seat I sat in the back with my friend Dillon who was practically the best kid on the team. Dillon said “you think we’re going to win today”. We were missing a few players because of grades or being out of town. Being a freshman, I didn’t think that I would get in very much but maybe a little. However, I was still really nervous for the game. Once we got to the locker room, we talked about our game plan-don’t have quick possessions that don’t result in anything but a turnover. If we did that, we would be…

I was right at the 5 yard line when the girl on the other team tackle me right to the side line we a got up she patted my shoulder pads and said,” nice run dude you were close but i got you,” all of my team ran to me and were cheering so loud the other team got mad but i did not care it was a home game at the huntley high school. I realized that you should never like celebrate too early or you might not get anywhere and you should all have good sportsmanship to any and any one because you never know what will happen to the person that you did not give the respect to might do. Also it really does not matter if you win or lose what matters is that you have fun i say that because the other team were like mad sad and some were even crying because that could be their last game and disappointed in there self you can just see it in there eyes and their actions they they were kicking the turf and tackling each other because they did not make it to the playoffs i ran over there to break it up and i told them it does not matter if you win or lose what matters is that you have fun and they said,” yay that's what it's really about thanks,’’ and i ran back to my team and i broke us…

In life, there are periods of transition in which individuals often face daunting challenges or obstacles. Overcoming these challenges at pivotal points of transition can impel the individual to develop essential character qualities and skills for surmounting adversity. My transition into high school was momentous. Here I knew that the decisions I made would likely have a strong impact on my future. Therefore, I had to be meticulous about the extracurricular activities I wanted to be involved in. This mindset allowed me to stay focused and determined because I wasn't focused on going to the next party or the new music that was out. I cared solely about the legacy I left behind. That is why I decided to run for student government at the end…

My junior year in high school I took two classes from teachers who gave immense amounts of work on difficult material. The classes were Honors Pre-Calculus and Advanced Biological Studies II. After a day at school and a demanding golf practice until dark, it was time to start my homework. By then I was already exhausted, but I still had hours of homework ahead of me. Most schools nights I would not be able to start my hefty pile of homework until 8 o'clock. Many nights the strenuous assignments given in Honors Pre-calculus and Advanced Biological Studies II kept me awake late into the night, even as late as 4 am. It was difficult struggling to stay awake and complete my strenuous workload after an entire day of activity. A full night of sleep…

Many students claim that middle school is exceedingly straightforward and easy, whereas others claim that middle school is complex and difficult. For those who succeed in school and claim school is easy say that because they work diligently. It’s not because they are naturally talented. The students who say middle school is difficult and flounder in their studies say school is difficult because they don’t work assiduously and they don’t have perseverance. In fact, there are several kids at school who are talented fail their classes. This is because they don’t have grit and they are also often too lazy to do their work. In my own case, I am considered as one of the naturally talented people. Many of my peers think that I receive good grades because I am talented. However, I know this is not the case. In reality, I have been recieving good grades because I have been working diligently. Most homework assignments in middle school require hard work, critical thinking, and perseverance(which means no procrastinating). There are also many conundrums and…

During my freshman year of high school I received a letter in the mail. This letter was an invitation to play basketball in Australia, with other boys and girls of my age. The date was September 13, 2011. The letter stated that we would be leaving June 1, of 2012. Of course I wanted to go as soon as I read the letter, but my family was more curious about the trip. We did some research and figured out everything that would be offered on this trip. In my research I read of playing Australian basketball games, snorkeling, swimming in the ocean, surfing, and spending three days on Tangalooma Island. This was enough to convince my family that it would indeed be a fun trip for me to attend.…

High school is tough. To a sixteen year old, your entire existence depends on your social status and what clique you roll with. And like in every high school movie ever made, bullies prey on kids who they feel are different than them. It’s hard to pop your head out of that bubble to see what is actually happening around you.…

The day started off well. Waking up at my usual time I rolled out of bed and got ready for the day. I had a long trip ahead of me but I didn’t want that to bring down my spirits. I was headed for Rapid City, South Dakota for a matchup against the number two football team in the state, the St. Thomas More Cavaliers. The Cavaliers had an impressive regular season, going undefeated and showing true blue pass offense, passing for more than 1500 yards in the regular season. We as Orioles were the underdogs as the seven seed. We…

I became a sophomore just one year ago and I have enjoyed every bit of the High School. I’ve met new friends and I have seen some old good friends. I have appreciated what I have right now in school, grade and teacher wise. All of the teachers have been extremely helpful throughout the time I have been in High school. For the first few months of High school I had some bummed out times. I was bummed out because I was disappointed that I didn’t have any classes with any of my friends. I figured if I had at least one or two classes with my friends it would be another awesome year like ninth grade was when I had almost all of my classes with at least one of my friends.…
