High School Experience Essay
High school is a tough time for many students. Whether it’s drama between friends or getting decent grades, students undergo changes while in high school. The education affects everyone differently. Everyone has different experiences in their life which molds them as a person. Education has helped me to realize the person I’ve become today. It has not only helped me to learn, it has also aided in molding my personality. During my freshman year of high school, my freshman English class read the book, Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. A while after my class finished the book; I had realized how special and important friendship was. Lenny and George were good friends who protected each other even in the end when George made the best choice for Lenny. My junior English teacher, Mrs. Doherty, was different compared to other teachers that I had. She was more interested in the process of learning rather than the final result. She would have us go step by step with our drafts, working on them in class for each paragraph. We had peer teaching exercises that allowed everyone to get involved and learn about their essay while aiding each other with their papers. Mrs. Doherty’s class helped me to learn how to accomplice problems at my own pace. For my senior year, I was fortunate to have Mrs. Doherty again. I had Global Mythology and Senior Writing Seminar with her. It helped me to learn more about who I was religiously and as a person. During Senior Writing Seminar, the second semester of the school year, we learned more about our identities and we were able to study what we were interested in.
