Finally, my obligation to America is to serve all Law Enforcement Officers and Veterans for their sacrifices which allowed America to become the amazing country that it is today. All of these things that I have listed above, all fall under one word, Patriotism. Eleanor Roosevelt once said, “True patriotism springs from a belief in the dignity of the individual, freedom and equality not only for Americans but for all people on earth, universal brotherhood and good will and a constant and earnest striving toward the principles and ideals on which this country was founded.” This statement that Mrs. Roosevelt said is the perfect definition of what it means to be a Patriot. Have you ever been at an event where you sing the national anthem and you look around and see a veteran with tears rolling down his face while he is saluting to the flag ? That is a prime example of a true patriot because the tears show how much this country means to him, not only his country but also the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance and Star Spangled Banner. Lastly, we should respect our flag and national anthem because it is a symbol of the principles our country was founded upon. If you break both
