My Life In America Essay
I am not very satisfied with my life here in America. I live in a tenement which is super small and not safe. My job as a meatpacker is harsh because it has long hours and low pay. Sometimes we even find rats by the meat which is absolutely disgusting and we have to wash our hands with sausage water. When I get home I prepare food or I buy food from the stand in the streets. But do not worry grandma I make sure to be careful when I am on the streets so I don't get robbed. Then I usually eat what I prepared or bought then go to bed. I hope daily life is better to back in Poland.

ANCA was working in coordination with a network of offices, chapters and supporters throughout the United States and affiliated organizations around the world, such as The United Nation, to help Armenian families leave all communist countries around the world to get freedom, destining America. In 1948, the United Nations adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, Article 14, which declares, "Everyone has the right to seek and to enjoy in other countries asylum from persecution." I was sad that I was leaving the place where I was born, but inside in my heart I was feeling happy for the new life that I will face soon. Finally we received our visas to leave the country. In order to reach our destination which was the United States, we had to stop in the city of Beirut, Lebanon as a refugee in 1968 and then we flew to our final destination which was New York in December, 1969.…

People often say things about how the United States, with its revolutionary political and economic system, must have been around for a long time in order to achieve the world standing it holds today. This isn’t the case though. In fact, when compared to great civilizations like the Roman Empire which lasted almost 12 centuries, many would say that the United States is still in its infancy. Much in the same way, the political and economic systems the U.S. is famous for are seen to be derived from past civilizations as well. But this of course leads us to asking the inevitable questions of where did it all begin, and what caused people to settle here in America of all places. In order to answer this however, we have to look back past explorers and crusades. Past the kings, uprisings, revolts, and trade routes. We must go back in time to the Roman Empire itself, specifically in the year 476 BCE; the time when everything was falling apart in Rome.…

I love the way you explained how people celebrated 4th of July in America. It definitely gave us a sense of patriotism and national pride. America have gone a long way. Traditionally, it's to celebrate Independence Day with American flags, red-white-blue, and that whole game. Nowadays, from my perspective, there are some patriotic people. However, for me while growing up, it's more BBQ, pool parties, fireworks, and most importantly red-white-blue & American flags. That's still somewhat patriotic and bring people together as you said, communal celebration. Those celebrations only happen in few times annually and truly united as together and helps us remember that America definitely have gone a long way.…

What it means to be an American, most people would tell you it means freedom to pursue and do what you want. In my opinion freedom and the “dream” don't come easy it takes more than hard work and dedication to earn a dime in this country. To be an American it means, responsibility to serve and do everything in your power to be a part of your society. To be an American it means you will obtain rights, for example, the 2nd amendment states you have the right to bare arms. To be an American it means you have freedom, to own whatever you desire if you work hard enough for it.…

Immigrants who move to the United States, move in hopes of a better life: financial stability, 2.5 kids, good education for their children, a house in a good neighborhood, 2 cars, etc. Ironically, I had the “American way of life” when I lived back in Santo Domingo. My family and I lived in our own house; we had 3 cars; my brothers and I went to private schools; we had a maid; both of my parents and my older brother went to good colleges; we were financially stable, and lived in a relatively good neighborhood. In other words, we had what every immigrant fights for in the United States. While living in Santo Domingo had its challenges: lack of 24 hour electricity and water systems, social delinquency, corrupt government, but my life there was relatively better and more relaxed than my life here.…
