My Last Shot Analysis
Holding the ball in my hands, sweat falling off my forehead like a waterfall into my eyes, I stare confidently at the gole, ready to shoot my first free throw. My teammates are lined up behind me at the half court line yelling words of encouragement. I shoot my first shot and the ball flies through the air. After what seems like years, it sinks in the rim with a loud swoosh, and the crowd erupts with loud cheers. My teammates rush up to me, high-fiving and telling me to end the game with this last shot. The game is tied and I have one more shot. The referee tosses me the ball and the gym falls silent. Adrenaline pumping through my veins, I shoot the second shot. It rolls around the rim and falls in. The gym is alive with excitement. With 1 sec left on the clock our opponents inbound the ball and throws up a prayer that wa not answered. As the final buzzer sounds all my teammates are on their feet jumping and cheering, some crying with joy. We won the state championship! In the midst of all this, a strange thought enters my mind. Where would I be if I hadn’t been in basketball? …show more content…
Back then the only thing I really wanted to do was run around, dribble a ball, and hang out with friends that did the same. Practices were all very basic, layups and dribbling drills, also there was some shooting and lots of running which is the same way i coach my 1st grade team today. When our season began, we went into the games just for fun. however, we started getting better and going into games with a NEVER LOSE attitude. And went through the season with 2 loses the first game and sadly the last witch was the championship. That night was the first night i ever cried over a game and honestly it was the last. Because crying never got me better practice

I have been playing basketball basically my whole life, it is has shaped me into the person I am today. I started with just a ball and a hoop in my cousins front yard. I would just chuck the ball at hoop for fun, horsing around with my cousins. In elementary and middle school I would play with my friends at recess shooting around, dribbling in circles for the fun of it. I was even better then most of the boys who would play with my group on the courts. When I entered high school that was when I realized I was truly in love with the game. High school was where it was taken to a whole 'nother level. I was introduced to the real dynamics of the sport, it was where I learned that if I really want to do something that I love I had to put my all into it. I had to prove that I was one-hundred percent committed to the game. Practicing everyday for two hours, and…

In the end, the last shot of a commercial is the lasting image in the viewer's head. Every Mac commercial in general always ends the same. The last shot is a picture of the Mac computer whether it’s the desktop or laptop. The background of the computer is the basic blue screen saver with the Apple sign and the letters M-A-C in bold white. The computer is shown on a bright white background even though the computer is white. The computer doesn’t stand out tremendously on the white background. Nor does it present a great picture to be remembered well.…

Alexander Hamilton, a statesman and one of the founding fathers of the United States, believed that the U.S government needed the ability to borrow money. As a result of the American revolution, the country dwelled in great debts and the economy was weak. A major factor that contributed to the financial crisis included the dispute over bonds. After the revolution, many soldiers were paid in bonds and expected to be paid back by the government. Hamilton recognized the inconvenience over bonds and other aspects of the weakened economy; therefore, he decided to come up with a plan- the financial plan.…

The theory that athletes go through "hot and cold streaks" stands on the fact that players go through ups and downs throughout a season. First, the hypothesis that states a player tends to make more shots after missing is considerably wrong based on the conclusion that players statistically produce an equal percentage of shots after missing a shot or making a shot. Also, it’s possible to replicate this concept in other sports too. Baseball players go through stretches during the season where they struggle heavily. Out of a random sample of players, a career .285 hitter could start the season hitting a mere .220. However, through other stretches of the season, a hitter will hit in streaks that reflect higher than his standing or career averages.…

The manifest Destiny was a belief that the settlers had. They believed that they were destined to expand the west throughout the North America. It was their belief that they were supposed to expand the country from the Atlantic to the Pacific Ocean. They took action and by doing this they gained one million square miles of land that was previously owned by Mexico. This expanded the U.S. The pioneers later settled in the west. They became cash croppers and they grew marketable product. The westward expansion was something that thomas Jefferson felt strongly about. He believes that the republic depended on an independent citizenry for their survival. In 1803 the louisiana purchase took place which doubled the size of the country. Then the Americans…

First of all, playing sports is one of my favorite things to do. They teach me discipline and I must do and Not do what coach says. Sports also teach me good sportsmanship. I learn to love the game by playing my opponent/friends and showing how to take a win or loss. Last year playing basketball we didn’t lose but one game, I was devastated. I like to think I took the Loss ok but I just blamed it all on myself. I got to show my winning spirts in a ton of games that season, and I think I showed my happiness well. Our team didn’t brag or show off we simply just played our game, and the results turned out as they may.…

It was a fun game to watch, as we all thought about us playing on that court the next day. It was finally game day, and we had to play Stewartville, 2nd place from Minnesota. They were athletic, but we ended up winning the close match. Our next rival was the Bismark Thunder, 1st in North Dakota and last year's national champions. We were nervous since the were taller, stronger, faster, and just better than us. We lost to them, but we were fired up to play for 3rd place. The team headed over to the Target Center for the 3rd place game. Playing there was so neat, being under the lights, having them announce your name, and just being with the tam. We played Grafton, who placed 2nd at state in North Dakota. They looked like us, athletically, so we weren’t too worried. We came out with a bang, ready to play. Darby and Ellie pushed it up the court on fast breaks, giving us the early lead. Rilee and I played great defense on the post, as well as Marlee on the wing. Jenny came in and scored a couple before halftime. We were tied 17-17 at the half, and we knew we would have to work even harder. Halftime was over, and we played our hearts out the rest of the game. Mavis and Paige played great offensively, as well as Taylor on defense. We beat Grafton, 36-34, with Darby’s 1:00 left, 2-point shot. We were so happy that we had pulled off that win! We spent the next hour at the…

It was winter season and that meant basketball. This year was special because I got to play for Davidson Day’s seventh and eight-grade team. See at our school the middles school ran through 5th to 8th. The middle school basketball teams were divided into a 5th-6th-grade team and a 7th 8th grade team. This season was different; we would play more games and different teams. Also we got a new coach and older teammates. Tryouts were rough; the older kids were picking on the 7th graders constantly. I was the only one they liked because I was good. The season got even worse. The 7th graders never played in the games and sometimes in the locker room older kids would yell at us for messing up. This was horrible to watch and be apart of.…

With this mindset, I focused my attention on making the basketball team my junior year. Every day, after marching band rehearsal, I would practice dribbling in my garage, rap or rock blaring through the speakers that had I set up. The weights that used to gather dust, rusting away in the corner, gained a new purpose as I performed a wide arrangement of exercises, ranging from curls to squats. The heated air, accompanied by the occasional breeze, and the concrete pavement was my…

Since I was 7 years old, basketball has played an integral part of my life. I have devoted countless hours to not just a sport, but a passion, an outlet; to the game that I love. When I arrived at Bow Middle School as a fifth grader, my classmates and I would always look up to the 7th and 8th grade middle school basketball teams. Every year during winter carnival, the boys and girls teams would play a game in front of the entire school. Playing in that game became a dream and a goal of mine, but first I would need to make the team. For three years I developed my basketball skills, using my passion for the sport and desire to play in that game as motivation. When tryouts for basketball in 8th grade drew near, I knew I was ready. However a new coach would be at the helm this year. Our new basketball coach was also a coach for the youth football program. This resulted in numerous football…

Basketball is a game I started very recently. In fact, I was hardly interested in it. The complexity of the game always made me feel like I’d never enjoy being a part of it. However, the game took me by surprise. A lot of my close friends were part of the team and they were so passionate about it. Very recently, in the beginning of 12th grade, my friends coerced me to attend practice. Waking up early morning and running to the gym was literally the worst part of my day.…
