My First Date
My First Date
From the time I can remember, that I went on a date was back in 2003 when I was in 7th grade and I lived in Washington, DC near the bus station. I lived in uncomfortable apartment on top of a shop downstairs. It was filthy and old and it had only 2 rooms I had to share one with my brothers. At night you can hear the train past and the cat’s meow .At that time is when I had one of my first dates with a girl named Danielle. The date was to go to the movies; the catch was that her older brother had to come. Dates are suppose to be romantic and formal like they always say but not mine it was simple and not romantic at all.
As I mentioned about my first date with a girl that I just wanted to get to know better was not one of the best that I have had in the past years. So first I brought here home that Saturday evening to meet my family and her brother came along to meet them too. So they came over for about 15 minutes then we gathered our belongings and headed toward the stairs, to be on our way to the metro station. So I being so polite and a gentleman I paid for her train ticket and intended to pay for her movie pass. So we got on the train 5 minutes after waiting on the cold winter day. The movies were about 10 minutes away from my house on the train, so then we arrived at Sliver Spring and walked while holding hands with Danielle towards the movies and also keeping an eye on her brother so he didn’t see us sneak in a kiss.
Once we got to the movies we had trouble picking what movie we were going to watch since we were teens and had few chooses to pick from and her brother wanted to watch a rated “R” movie. So we decide to watch a neutral movie that we all agreed on. I don’t recall what it was, but I guess it was horrible since I don’t recall what it was. On the way to the ticket booth I went back to reach for my wallet when I reach back there’s nothing and I’m like “Crap”. Danielle says to me “what wrong” and “I’m thinking to myself” “what should I

She was there for a work event, and myself for pleasurable entertainment. I enjoyed going to the symphony after a long day at work. We spotted each other from across the room, she walked over to me and introduced herself. I asked her out and we had our first date the following weekend. On one of our dates, I took her to this same restaurant. We bonded over the red trumpet. The beauty and the sound of it made me smile with joy.…

When I was 17 it was 1995, I went on my first real date. We were going to see First Knight. The boy in question was the friend of a friend and I had only ever talked to him on the phone. He said he would pick me up at 7 and we would catch a movie. So far so good. 7 rolls around and he isn't there, he calls and says his Dad is running late so they won't be there till 8. I didn't realize his Dad was driving but whatever, I am withholding judgment. 8:30 they show up and he knocks on my door and I go out to join him. He leans in for a kiss and I lean very far back and awkwardly stick out my hand to shake his hand. He doesn't act like he knows what to do next and he is just staring at his feet and his Dad is staring at us and time just crawls. We finally just painfully walk to the car. It is not immediately apparent where we are going to be sitting. Now, this dude's Dad was HUGE. Not just his weight, but his entire freaking frame. He barely fits in his car. He has the driver's seat all the way back and in the front seat next to him is a cage of living breathing birds. The back seat is really only half a back seat because his Dad is filling so much of the car. I look at my date and look at the car. My date seems to have come to the same realization that there is really only one seat. I squeeze into the backseat while my date squeezes into the front seat with a bird…

Put some thought into your first date. If you ask a woman out, have some sort of activity or restaurant in mind but make it a little fancy and interesting, don’t just take her to a fast food restaurant though. You don’t have to stick to a specific plan. But have in mind what you are going to do with her. A man who asks a woman out then leaves it up to the woman to orchestrate the date is not even a bit impressive.…

Then it hit me, what if she dosen’t like me anymore, what if she thinks I look ugly, what if she thinks I am weird. Oh, I remember that trip! Chloe had gotten drenched because her younger brother had emptied a bucket of ocean water on her, while we were tanning at the beach. I reminisce while looking through the old pictures of me and Chloe. These photos are like snapshots of the most amazing times of my life. I can’t stand the thought of losing her so I decide to go see her while she is at rehearsals for the play that she is directing. I reach 2 hours before the play is scheduled to start, so I can get the chance to talk to her. I enter the community theater building and walk down the aisle that leads to the stage where Chloe is standing. I walk over to her and tap her shoulder. She turns and looks at me with surprise and confusion swirling in her eyes.…

One insignificant thing that made me uncomfortable was when you held my hand, you did it the wrong way. Instead of interlocking fingers like most people do, you cupped your hand against mine, but I guess most people do not strip the dignity off other people. Nevertheless, while we were at the pet store, you came behind me, wrapped your arms around me in a way that made me cringe, and whispered provocative things in my ear. This increased my dislike towards you, but, again, I overlooked it. By this point you bought the tickets and I did not want to leave in the middle of the date due to an awkward comment. Frankly, I have yet to be on a first date lacking…

Our plan was to drive through Nevada and into Utah. We stayed the night at the Beehive Inn. It was the only hotel close to us and there was only one room available because the Udells cancelled, so we were the Udells for the night. The room turned out to be a honeymoon room and it had only one bed a well , but this was more awkward than the night before. In the morning we started for Colorado Springs. Once we got there instead of buying a room we were able to stay at one of the sorority houses at Roger’s college. His friend Bronwyn let us stay there. There was a party at one of the other houses close by and so she let me borrow her clothes since I had nothing fancy. Her style was how mine once was: It was full of cute shirts, the ones that were super soft and cute. I hadn't dressed nice since “it” happened. The party was fun, but I had left early. The next morning my suitcase was already downstairs, but Bron left me one of her outfits to wear. We were on our way and there was a note with my suitcase she had taken most of my clothes and replaced them with hers. I was a bit mad, but later on I knew I would thank her. We headed towards Kansas…

After that first night I had convinced myself it was coincidence she had picked out my favorite hoodie. She would text me asking if I would like to go out to dinner my answer was always no. I had to admit though I was impressed by her persistence I mean what kind of women could get rejected this much and still keep on trying. I did eventually give in and we went to dinner at one of her favorite restaurants. It actually went fairly well and I decided it couldn’t hurt to just go out with her every now and then. If she got attached I would just break things off. Turns out she wasn’t only one who ended up falling. After a few months passed I grew fond of her and began to miss her when she wasn’t around. I started to question all my beliefs about life and love. Finally I came to what I will refer to as the screw it point. Where I decided so what if this is all temporary I might as well try to love her for as long as I can. I believe that this was a brilliant realization that needed to happen but it happened with the worst person I could’ve possibly…

We went to one of the only grocery stores in town called Family Dollar to rent a Redbox movie and get supplies for making s’mores. Once we got everything we needed we drove to the local school to pick up Samantha’s little sister. We drove down a long twisting neighborhood to get to the school. Once we got there Samantha told me about how the middle school and high school are connected as one building and the parking lots are extremely small fitting maybe 50 cars. The high schools by my house have enough parking for a small country. We picked her up by the softball field and she told us about how she didn’t even have to pay to get into the softball game because she came from another sporting event. So, their mom called the principal also known as their cousin to make sure this was actually allowed and she…

Her date arrived on time and we waited in the lobby of the movie theater for Zack to show up. The movie was starting so they went inside to find a seat and I stayed in the lobby to wait. Zack got there 15 minutes late with a cream soda and no apology. We went to sit down and he offered me a drink which I declined because cream soda is disgusting. He kept pushing until I finally took a drink. I became wrapped up in the plot of Divergent with Zack to my left, completely absorbed in his phone, and Lydia to my right, completely absorbed in her date’s face. I somehow made it through the movie without walking out since I didn’t want to leave Lydia there alone with two guys we didn’t know that well. Her mom came to pick us up and we went back to my house. As soon as I got through the door, I texted Zack and told him I didn’t want to see him again and went to go take a shower to wash off the nauseating feeling I had after being around him. Despite all of that, he managed to manipulate me into continuing to talk to…

My mom and I were running late. Not like it was anything new. We were supposed to be in Moulton no later than 5:30, and now it was closer to 6:00. We finally pulled into the apartment complex, where we were supposed to meet this guy, at a little after 6:00. After searching for this guy for a few minutes[->0] and a few phone calls, we assumed that we had missed him. "See Mom, you should have gotten off of work early," I said just as I saw the guy pull into the parking lot. "Hey are you ready to move into your apartment?" asked the guy. After a few minutes of struggling to get the furniture into the apartment, I figured it was the end of the adventure. A few weeks[->1] later, after getting home from work, my mom was telling me that I would never guess who had called her earlier in the day. Not being in a great mood, I just shrugged my shoulders as to suggest that I didn't really care. Then she asked me if I remembered the guy who we had met just a few days before. She told me that he had called to ask her if she wanted to go out one night that coming weekend.…
