Some of the stuff we do in my culture are cool and not to many people are like me we eat spicy cajun food, I like to listen to rap music,Workout, Play video games, and play baseball it's a very fun sport. My cultural identity comes mainly from the south because that is where i grew up. Ever since i was a baby i would listen to rap music in the car. Also at the age of 6 i was playing baseball. I still play baseball to this day. When i first started playing baseball i was 6 years old and surprisingly, i wasn't even that bad i was one of the best players on my tee ball team. After one year of playing tee ball my mom bumped me up an age group because she felt that i was to good for them. So ever since i was 7 all the way up until high school i was playing with older kids. Love the sport and everytime i get on the field i get happy because it one of my most favorite thing to do. After some of my baseball games I like to go eat out and spend time with my family. Cajun food is one of the best foods in my opinion. Some of the best food around is cajun food like crawfish, crabs, and Gumbo. Crawfish is my favorite out of those choices i don't think no one can make them like people in louisiana. Although gumbo is very good it self i could eat those items all day everyday. This has role in my cajun culture because people …show more content…

Also the schools I went too probably had a part of the music and the way that I do things. They also have some violent songs down here in the south all over and not a lot of states are like that. The most important and first thing to have is to ensure there is a safe and warm emotional relationship with the children. This not only builds trust but also helps them understand and connect with cultural identities. As an educator myself I have to fully understand the children’s culture to enable me to meet the learning, social and wellbeing needs of children and their families. Give opportunity for children to be exposed to the different cultures such as through, videos, storytelling, ‘show and tell’ and even learning basic words in other language. We ourselves need to be a non-judgemental and non-bias educator as children tends to copy our actions. When a child display signs of being disrespectful, it is important to explain to the child that what he is doing is unacceptable, tell him that understanding and learning about different culture shows a respectful and good behaviour. Educators might encourage children from different background to play together.…

New Orleans is the epicenter of cajun food, so there was no way the knock off Charlotte cajun food could even come close in comparison. From gumbo to Po'boys and fresh oysters to crabs, New Orleans had it all. Instead of eating turkeys and mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving, my family and friends would gather around the table with piles of crawfish in the center. For dessert, we would go to the local cafe and order fresh beignets, a fried dough covered with mountains of powdered sugar. Even the Popeyes tastes different in North Carolina than in Louisiana. They lost all of the spiciness and tanginess the chicken in Louisiana held. They may try to serve “Louisiana fast” but of course not “Lousiana…

Large amounts of people have been immigrating into Canada ever since the 1600s. Of course it wasn’t until the 1960s that people of all backgrounds, religion, and ethnics were allowed to make a home and co-exist in Canada. Originally, many people weren’t accepted because of their race. Even if some where accepted, they ended up being treated unfairly with rules such as head tax and bans specifically for them. Overtime, things got better for immigrants and they started to become accepted, first through the work they did to support the country as well as resources and the determination they gave. Now, immigrants can easily come into Canada and become Canadian citizens giving them rights and freedoms equal to everyone around them. With immigrants comes a change in society and culture. Many trends we have now originated from another country and were introduced into Canada only through immigration.…

From where my parents are from the music styles of cumbias, corridos and bachata are well known. When you grow up to those music styles it's very interesting. Although the styles are very different they all tell a story, either in what they say or how they are danced. The music tells the story of my culture and it is told in such a way that people enjoy it and teaches others so they can know my story and the way I grew up and what makes me and my personality different from the rest. The music that best tells the story of my culture is corridos and they usually come from the history of the culture or everything that is going on in the present. Musicians take all of that and make a song that tells a story and people can…
