Music Performance Autobiography
My music performance career made a debut when I was very young. The church was my first audience when I began to fall in love with the stage. I always took pride in singing in Christmas and Easter programs, and I eventually went on to sing solos. Until middle school, church was my sole outlet for music performance. However, in middle school, I decided to join choir and band. My life suddenly became filled with concerts, honor bands, and other performances. I consider these the moments that I really began to learn what performance was all about. Music has helped me learn many important life lessons that make me the person I am today. Music performance has been one of the most impactful parts of my life because it has taught me confidence, artistry, and dedication. Confidence is the main factor that separates how I was as a child and my current situation. As a child I used to be quiet and shy, but now I carry myself with much more confidence. I believe I owe my confidence to performing in front of people. Through the years, I made a decision to incorporate music performance into my daily life. I began to play in praise band at church, sing in the choir, and attend as many band events as possible. Along the process of maturing as a musician, I have learned that music is not truly about expertly playing rhythms, having perfect pitch, or even playing the right notes, but it is about conveying a certain emotion to each person in the audience. Any performance could deeply impact someone, so I hope to encourage and motivate people through my music. Each practice adds to how clearly I can convey this to the audience. This also means that I must put one-hundred percent of my effort into every performance. I believe that this artistry is very important to my music
