When people think of music, the first thing that comes to mind is probably not Nazi Concentration Camps. Most people think death, brutal, and inhumane when they think of concentration camps. Music does not seem like it would play a big part in a place where millions were brutally murdered day in and day out. This is why music in concentration camps is considered paradoxical; in other words contradicting. The music was paradoxical in concentration camps because music helped prisoners remember who they are and what they came from; music helped them survive when they thought the end was coming, and it helped them get out of doing harder jobs.…
Most artists strived to use the pain and despair of World War II in their music but still remaining upbeat and positive message in their music(Unknown,1). Some innovators of the 1940’s music industry like Rosemary Clooney, Bing Crosby and the well know Frank Sinatra. These musicians helped define and transform the music of the time. The Second World War was starting to take its toll on the people of the United States but these extremely talented artists continued to make fun and upbeat music(Unknown, 1) . There are many similarities in three songs. Firstly, three songs are about the war and against the war. For example, And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda song by Eric Bogle tells the young Australian soldier that Battle of Gallipoli in Turkey during the World War I. This song describes the young man’s feelings and horror experiences. No Man’s Land song by Eric Bogle tells the reflecting on the grave of William McBride, a young man who died in World War I. He is too young to die and he doesn’t know about the war. Only Nineteen song by the Australian band Redgum tells the story of an Australian experience in the Vietnam War. Although this experience seems like a long time ago, it is the scars. Soldiers get scared by the TV news helicopters and cannot sleep because horror memory comes back during the war, it is PTSD. Secondly, soldiers in three songs are the young men. The line 1 and line 2 in And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda song…

Between the years of 1939 to 1945 the world was an entirely different place. This was one of the darkest parts of world history, World War II. This war truly reshaped the world, as we know it today. During this type period there was also a huge amount of compositions being produced and performed. Often times though certain composers music was censored because the leader of their nation did not agree with the composition or the ideas of the composer. The most powerful nation during the Second World War was Germany. Germany was under the control of Adolf Hitler, who created many of the problems that occurred during World War II. Adolf Hitler was viewed as a man of power and was feared by thousands of people. Adolf Hitler did have a soft spot, which many people were not aware of. This soft spot was Hitler’s appreciation for music. Not only did Adolf Hitler re-shape the economies and industries of the world, but he also had a major impact on the music being produced. Adolf Hitler was very selective of which composers he saw fit to express themselves, if you were not amongst these composers the best thing for you to do was to get out of Europe as soon as possible. The composers Adolf Hitler did see fit were very successful because of the tremendous support Adolf Hitler gave them. Adolf Hitler did not only reshape the world through his radical views on religion and appearance but he also changed the production of music in Europe during the World War II.…
It is difficult to show the effects of music on the individual, but it is easy to see how the individual chooses genres of music based on mood. The soldiers in Iraq, for instance, listened to a song by the band Drowning Pool titled, "Let the Bodies Hit the Floor," over the speakers in their tanks. After listening to the song it would be easy to see that they didn 't just choose the song because they thought it pertained to their current situation. The song is loud, fast, and hard. The song fueled the soldiers. I don 't think that it made them into bloodthirsty savages, but I do think that it pumped them up with adrenaline. Walk into any random Gold 's Gym and I 'm sure you will not hear classical or new age music, but instead some sort of rock.…

How are music and war related? Music puts a voice in the people's ears, and tells them whether or not we should be involved in that war. It helped out the troops when they were over seas to not be so home sick. Also, every war preceding the Vietnam War had music to help or support the war, but the Vietnam War is where music during wartime changed.…
