Museum: Impressionism and Artist
I decided to go to the Cummer Museum for my visit. This is where I went for my museum visit for Humanities I and I liked it so much I wanted to go back again. I was interested to see any of the new art that has been added to its collection since my last visit. Also the museum just had its 50th anniversary and had an exhibit of art that was purchased for its anniversary. I was also interested in the traveling exhibit they had set up which was Impressionism and Post Impressionism from the High Museum of Art. Here is a list of art that I found to be very interesting:
1.) Title: Cinerary Urn Artist: Unknown The carvings in this urn were very detailed and you could tell that it was carved for someone of importance.
2.) Title: Head of Theseus Artist: Unknown I liked the way his hair was carved down the side of his face, I can tell that it was very detailed and definitely took some time! 3.) Title: Black Figure Amphora Artist: Terra Cotta The way the males figures were positioned was amazing! It had to be extremely difficult to paint on this figure. 4.) Title: Pair of Gold Earrings Artist: Unknown These earrings appear that they would be extremely heavy. Although,the earrings are very pretty. 5.) Title: Stirrup Pot Artist: Terra Cotta The look on the cat’s face that is sitting on top of the pot looks as though the cat is scared. 6.) Title: Annunciation Artist: Unknown I really liked the way the artist has the angel looking down on the woman. The angel looks as though she is watching over the woman. 7.) Title: Pieta Artist: Peter Breuer The carving in the wood is very detailed. The look on Jesus’s face looks as though Jesus is lifeless. 8.) Title: Mother of Sorrows (Master Dolorosas)

The redness around her eyes, looks like she has been crying a lot. She looks very sad. 9.) Title: Praying Madonna
