Outcome 1: Know the employment rights and responsibilities of the employee and employer 1.1. Identify the main points of contracts of employment

A contract is an agreement therefore the overall outcome of a contract of employment is to say that the employee knows, understands and accepts their employment conditions, their rights, their responsibilities and their duties, these are all know as the ‘terms’ of the contract. So for me at Caleeda my contract of employment may be the same to the other apprentices but it would be different to the permanent members of staff in the office, whether that be regarding responsibilities or duties as everyone has equal rights within the office regardless of position.
1.2. Identify the main points of legislation affecting employers and employees

The main points of legislation affecting both Caleeda and all employee’s are;

1.3. Identify where to find information on employment rights and responsibilities both internally and externally

Internally information on employment rights and responsibilities can be found in the folder with the blue ring bind, also I could gain this information from either speaking to my line manager or the director.

In addition externally this information can be found via the internet or failing this I could go into a local job centre or citizens advice bureau.
1.4. Describe how representative bodies can support the employee

A representative body can support me (employee) as they are able to forward on employee’s complaints and deliver
