PROJECT TOPIC: GSM ALARM SYSTEM WITH VIDEO SURVEILLANCE

OPOKU MEDAS SELASSIE: 3731109
BAFFOE-MENSAH NANA KWESI: 3728609

SUPERVISOR: REV. DR. J.K OPPONG
ABSTRACT
In light of theft cases where culprits steal valuables from homes, schools, hostels, etc and get away without being easily identified by victims and security officials, a GSM alarm system is considered in this project as a solution to help curb the spate of theft cases. The project addresses the design and implementation of a practical home alarm system. The system realizes its mobile notification capabilities via mobile phones through a GSM network. The system works independently under an existing GSM network and also has recorded surveillance footage. Home-owners or end-users are alerted to any intrusions on their properties via text message anywhere they are and at any time the intrusion takes place. They are also assured of identifying the culprits due to the video surveillance. Apart from homes, this system can be applied to hostel rooms, offices, shops, etc.
