-Movie starts off with a woman running away frightened, and then the scene changes to George and Lennie running away from men on horses, most likely police. They both jump in the water and avoid the men on horses. This did not happen in the book, but foreshadows what George tells Slim later on.…
The Most Dangerous Game is a story and a film. They have similarities and differences. Some similarities are the setting, the château, most of the characters, and the island. The island is very mysterious and adventures in both features. General Zaroff and Rainford go in war with each other. The film follows the book in a flow. Although they seem very similar, they have many differences. There are more characters and more horror.…
S.E. Hinton was only 15 years old when she wrote this extremely detailed book. I liked her book a lot because of how much detail she put into it. I didn’t like the movie a lot because I was kind of expecting it to be a lot like the book but was disappointed when it left out many different parts of the book. While the book and movie have many similarities and differences, the book was more effective in telling the story.…
Ender’s Game is a novel about a child who voluntarily made the decision to military school in order to train to eventually fight in an alien invasion. When reading the novel, the reader is presented with the idea of taking someone’s childhood in order to win. When watching the movie, the viewer gets to see children fighting and preparing for a battle without knowing the overall purpose and message of the novel. Ender’s Game is asking if it is morally correct to train a child for war. In the end though, the novel shows a more fitting message than the movie portrays it.…
Typically, people these days prefer watching movies over reading books. However, it can be interesting to read a book as well as watch the movie to find similarities and differences. The novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, consists of two main characters: George Milton and Lennie Small. The movie, released in 1992, focuses on the same characters’ adventures working on a ranch during the Great Depression. There are several similarities between Lennie in the movie and the book, including him liking to touch anything soft and him acting like George's child. However, there are also differences between the two, such as Lennie’s size and his mental abilities.…

“When I stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house, I had only two things on my mind: Paul Newman and a ride home.” In The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, Ponyboy is not the ordinary fourteen- year- old boy for he is a greaser, a poor person known to be a public disgrace from the East side of town. All of his life he has been living as a nothing compared to the Socs, the rich kids from the West-side. He doesn’t know if he should be proud of who he is until his entire world changes. When his friend murders one of the Socs, they flee until they find themselves saving school children from a fire. From delinquents to heroes, they have changed who they are and their future. After reading the book and watching the movie,…
The book and movie adaption of “A Monster Calls” both have the same powerful theme, yet they both portray it using different strategies.. “A Monster Calls” teaches you that accepting your truth takes courage, but it will set you free. The book and movie have similarities, but they also have obvious differences. The book is suspenseful, with implicit details that hint at the theme. The movie, on the other hand, gets right to the point before the reader is even hooked.…
For the past few weeks, I have analyzed the storytelling style of the book and film Big Fish. The biggest difference I noticed was that I thought that the book focused more on the telling of Edwards inane stories, while the film was mostly centered around character development and relationships. I also think that while the book was very euphoric and felt like a children’s bedtime story, the film took a much more mystical and mysterious route, where a childish feel was dormant. Lastly, I thought that in the book the author just threw all the stories together and told them sporadically, but the film it followed more of a storyline and had order. Although the book seemed to have been written for a child, nevertheless the film was portrayed in a much more dark, mysterious manner due to the mood and other components.…
The Maze Runner is a book to movie adaption of the James Dashner book that goes by the same title. The movie was first released in Mexico on September 11, 2014 and made its debut in the United States eight days later on the nineteenth. The movie was very different from the book but show some components that were wonderfully used.…
The movie itself is very much different from the book. The story was also changed with some of the plot. The movie and the book are both still following the same story line. Along with the same ending. This is what I have noticed between the movie and the book.…

Veronica Roth once said “If you actually succeed in creating a utopia, you've created a world without conflict, in which everything is perfect. And if there's no conflict, there are no stories worth telling - or reading.” Is an utopian society the way to go? In the book The Giver by Lois Lowry, the protagonist Jonas soon realized after becoming The Receiver that the Elders in his community have been hiding the truth of what could have been. There is more feeling and technology in the movie compared to the book The Giver.…
A lot of parents want their kids to read the book then watch the movie. But why? If you read the book, you have an image in your head of what the character looks like, what their voices sound like, and what the scene looks like, and usually it is pretty good. But when you watch the movie, all those images get shattered.…
