Molly Brown Research Paper
Have you ever watched your friends drown while you survive? Well, Molly Brown has. Molly Brown was born in Missouri in 1867. She was an actress who married J.J. Brown. Later in her life she ran for the senate, but, later pulled out of the election. Molly Brown created change because she survived the Titanic, worked as an activist for Women’s rights, and worked with helpful companies.
On April 12, 1912 an iceberg hit the Titanic around 11:40 pm. Many people were not able to get onto a lifeboat and they died. Molly Brown was able to get on a lifeboat and she helped as many other passengers as she could. When her boat was full and she left for shore, she was rescued by the Carpathia. She can be quoted saying, "Typical Brown luck. We're unsinkable." She is considered unsinkable because the Titanic is one awful story of a sinking ship and she survived it. She had a growth mindset and didn't just give up and die when the ship was hit and she lived because of it. As you have read, the sinking of the Titanic, and some luck, made Molly famous.
Molly helped found the Denver Women’s Club. She felt strongly about how women should be equal. She later aligned herself with the Women’s Suffrage Movement. She also helped women in an unheard of …show more content…
She also worked with the American Committee for Devastated France. She worked with many companies that wanted to help people just like she did. When Molly saw a problem she always wanted to help. To make her an even better person she worked with the Red Cross. Molly is quoted saying, "Give me every time the rugged men of the West. Why, in France there are only perfumed and unbathed Continental gallants—in England only brandy-soaked British gents." She understood how there are many types of people and some need more help than others. Plus, she didn’t give up and become selfish after the Titanic sank, she just helped even more.
