Miss Hilly Compare And Contrast
Miss Hilly Holbrook and Miss Eugenia “Skeeter” Phelan are two important foil characters in The Help. Miss Hilly is a wealthy Jackson socialite with two children, Heather and William Jr. Miss Skeeter is a 23 year old wealthy socialite who lives with her parents at their cotton plantation. Miss Skeeter and Miss Hilly have many similarities and differences.
Miss Hilly is president of the Jackson Journal League and many of the women in Jackson look up to her. Hilly issues a Home Help Sanitation Initiative which would require every family in Mississippi to build an outdoor bathroom for their help.
Miss Skeeter has a college degree and a cotton trust fund. Skeeter dreams of becoming a writer and gets a job writing for the Miss Myrna column. Skeeter

    It makes sense that Ford is their God because the society in Brave New World moves away from culture and identity towards total technological efficiency. Ford is the father of modern automobiles and of production technology, he represent all things scientific and efficient making him a suitable symbol for them to “worship”.
