Case studies presentations

As mentioned in the description of the course, eight case studies will be presented. Each group must do both a written and oral presentation of assigned case study. It is important that contribution of each group member is evident and clearly documented. Written part of assigned case studies should not be longer than 10 pages (TNR 11, double space).

The written and oral presentations are to identify the case's main problems and recommend viable solutions (literature references are essential, the highest grade will only be given to outstanding work that is supported with well-chosen, current literature).

Each group's written and oral presentations should be submitted immediately after the students’ case presentations. It is required to submit a paper copy of your written work as well as electronic copy.

Oral presentation should be prepared following the general rule:

15 mins: presentation of case/ problems
30 mins: presentation of assignment questions / answers
15 mins: general class discussion

Each student will present a written case analysis which should be no more than 5 and no less than 4 double-spaced pages and is due on the date and time indicated in the course schedule (last page of this syllabus). While I focus on the content of your essay for my grading, clarity of presentation and organization is essential for me to follow your ideas. A good starting point is to look at the case discussion questions in Quiz 4. But your answer cannot be a series of answers to questions but must rather be an essay. Some of these questions will guide your case analysis and should be an aid to you in formulating your answer. Therefore, reading the case before the end of the third week so as to deal with these questions should help you do well in the case project. A good approach to the project is to make sure you include all the elements that I look for in my grading of your assignment.…

Your responses should demonstrate your understanding of the course content and your analysis and critical thinking; you are not expected to just re-iterate what is in the textbook and the course modules, but to integrate the information and relate it to the Case Study. Answers will be in the form of a list or short answers, as indicated in the questions. Proper APA style must be used for any citations and references that you use. Your Exam will be graded on the accuracy of your responses and whether you have appropriately tied your response to the Case Study. GB 459 Final Case Analysis Presentation Instructions and Guidelines Part 5 of your group case analysis is a 20 minute group oral presentation. This semester the presentation will be recorded using the Blackboard Collaborate tool integrated in to our course web site. If you attended the Glo-bus orientation, you have already participated in a Collaborate session and have your computer set up with the right Java and other settings. If you did not attend a Glo-bus orientation via Collaborate, go to the Collaborate tutorials folder posted on the Course web site to find out how to make sure your computer has the right settings and to get started in Collaborate. Each group has a Collaborate room set up for its use and you will want to use that for your group work and to practice making several recordings prior to this graded presentation being due at the end of the semester. There are also instructions for recordings in the Collaborate tutorials folder. If you experience technical issues with Collaborate, the help link is: http://support.blackboardcollaborate.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=8336 Guidelines for Presentation Because your time will be limited (20 minutes in all), your final presentation should focus primarily on your recommendations, and should not contain the full analysis that normally goes into the paper write-up. Think of yourselves as a consulting team giving a presentation to your Company’s executive team and you want to make the best case for the recommendations and rationale for them as you can in only 20 minutes. Here are some tips and instructions: • You should not simply read your complete case study paper into your recording. Aside from taking far too long, it would be incredibly boring. The art of making presentations is quite different from the craft of writing papers. You should not approach them in the same manner. • Start your presentation by giving me a quick summary of your focal company: a very quick review what they do and more on…
