Social Responsibilities and Contributions:

Mercury Drug Corporation held a special Operation Bigay Lunas (OBL)that aided more than 12,000 people in Cainta and San Mateo, Rizal; Pasig; Marikina; as well as in the Laguna province.

As a company that has entrenched its commitment in helping communities that mostly needed healthcare assistance, the special OBL was Mercury Drug‘s response to alleviate the burden of those who were affected by typhoon Ondoy.

Right medicines were supplied for each patient‘s sickness wherein cough and colds, skin disease, fever and diarrhea are the common sicknesses.

The event was made possible through the efforts of more than 140 volunteer doctors and over 300 volunteer Mercury Drug and LGU staff. The company‘s business partners, United Laboratories, Glaxo Smith Kline, Pharex Healthcare and Pfizer as well as the local government units of the areas also supported the events.

The Operation Bigay Lunas is one of the company‘s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program that provides free medical consultations and medicines to the needy.

Since OBL‘s establishment in 1999, Mercury Drug remains dedicated to its commitment to improve the quality of every Filipinos health in every community. Potable Water Project

Last November 24, 2003, Mercury Drug Corporation turned over its 2nd artesian well at Barangay San Agustin, San Fernando City, La Union. It was made possible in cooperation with the Philippine Business for Social Progress, City Government of San Fernando, La Union and Barangay Council of San Agustin.

This social responsibility program of the company grants motorized deepwell with overhead tank to chosen barangay in need of potable water. Its first recipient on February 15, 2002 was the Tinig ng Nagkakaisa Homeowners Association at San Guillermo, Bayanan, Muntinlupa.
