The year is 2010, the era is the 21st century; and we, citizens of the world, are living in the Information Age. Our information is made available on the Internet where it can be viewed by millions. The days where our data was recorded on scraps of paper and left in a box in an office along with thousands of other registers are long gone. Our personal data is permanently recorded in the hard drives of computers where they can be analysed and exploited by anyone with access to that computer; or worse, identity thieves and hackers may get their hands on the data.…

Today, I went with Steven Campos to a coalition meeting at Christ Hospital. This was my first coalition meeting besides the YCP (Youth Crime Prevention) coalition meeting. This coalition meeting was extremely educational and useful. During this meeting, I have learned about the Restorative Justice (RJ) System. According to Steven Campos presentation, RJ offers victims a highly participatory process by focusing on the victim’s needs such as letting them tell their story by being heard in the community, participating in discussions about how to resolve their problem and letting the victim’s receive information about the circumstances of the crime.…

    Na Meeting Analysis

Upon entering the NA meeting I had mixed feelings. I didn’t know how to come to the meeting knowing my intentions were neither to give nor receive help. I felt like I was an intruder. I didn’t understand why I should betray others or act as if I was an addict who chose not to interact in the healing and recovering process. All of those things pushed me into the door of a meeting and open my mind to the hurt behind the physical appearance of these people. Their stories were heart wrenching. They all wanted help or do be noticed at some point of their lives before they became addicts. Never knowing the decisions they chose to take that first hit would turn their worlds upside down and take their family and friends from them. Forever changing their lives and not knowing if it will ever return to what it once was.…

The Louisiana Purchase is arguably the greatest real estate deal in history. It more than doubled the size of the United States. We gained approximately 530 million acres of land for 15 million dollars; about four cents an acre. Before the purchase, the French had control over the land west of the Mississippi River. Therefore, by gaining this land, America also gained control of the Mississippi River and correspondingly, access to the Gulf of Mexico and the port of New Orleans. Because of The Louisiana Purchase, Americans had the right to trade profitable products at the port of New Orleans and the country became more independent. Also, the purchase provided America with the opportunity for westward expansion, which would result in the formation of new states.…

A few days back It was our end of summer meeting; I was sitting in a chair at the annual all staff meeting at the Old Colony YMCA. Our executive director talked about the tremendous progress we had made with our new construction, the amount of new members we had received, and the impact we’ve all made on the lives of others. Although this was a celebratory gathering, it was also a way for everyone to come together to express their thoughts and ideas on new ways to improve and continue growing in the community. Our executive brought up developmental aspects (assets) and the Achievement Gap, something we’ve been working at for quite some time. As a YMCA staff member, I interact with kids on a daily basis, it is my job to give the children the…

Research on the destination’s traffic and the history of issues of events that have had traffic delays or occurrences is the best way to avoid the delays and issues.
