Mary Alice Journal Entry
The Pathway to Death One day as Mary Alice was walking through the dark enchanted forest, she stumbled upon a secret pathway. The air was brisk on her skin as continued her journey along the trail. At the very end of the path she noticed a dark, abandoned castle. The castle was rustic and creepy looking. Mary Alice debated on whether or not to go inside. Despite her shaky palms and fast heartbeat, she entered the double porters anyways. As she opened the door, the smell was musky and bitter. When Mary Alice walked inside, it was so quiet that even the sound of her own footsteps echoed. Mary Alice made her way to the stairs, each step was made of wood and the staircase had gargoyles along the railings. Right before she stepped her foot on the …show more content…
“That is not true my little darling, there is only one path that leads to my abandoned castle.” She was scared and wanted nothing more than to just go back to her home. Without anything to say, Mary Alice turned away from the staircase and headed back for the double doors. Just as she opened the door he slammed it shut. “Now just where do you think you are going young lady?” the man's voice stern. “My mother is expecting me to be home around noontime,” Mary Alice said. “Did you not know that once you enter this castle you are forbidden to leave. This my dear is your new home,” the man said followed by a creepy burst of laughter. Right then Mary Alice knew she had made the worst mistake of her life., tears began to rush down her face. She knew better than to wander to the trail and enter the mystifying castle. The path that she chose to take was simply the path to her own death because the grungy man held Mary Alice captive for the rest of her life. She tried to escape many times, but was never successful.
