Martyn Pig
this is what i've got soo far. Villian, hero or victim? Martyn pig is portrayed in all 3 different way threw out the novel

Victim? with a drunked dad and a mum who left his life doesn’t sound that good, hes a victim of he’s dads failure. And suffers as they never go out on holiday. so therefore he feels separate from the world always looking out of windows, observing. like the world could exist without him.

He’s always been bullied by dean, hes the victim. Dean makes him feel like durt he pushes him around and Martyn does nothing about it, he shows off and makes it clear that Alex is his.

but roles switch when Martyn gains confidence over Dean as he has outsmarted him by using stuff he left around his house to make him a suspect in William pigs death. Martyn comes across as confident the way he constantly gives Dean clear short answers “i don’t believe it” “prove it” “i can’t” you’ll just have to trust me”. where as before Martyn shuddered with nerves ”no...no, a prescription. I’m waiting for my dads prescription’ he now is like the villain framing dean for Williams death. He feels like he’s Alex's Hero for out smarting Dean.

but overal he’s really a victim and he doesn’t even realise it, I think hes exaggerated all of Alex's good qualities to hide her other side and manipulating ways. He wants something good in his life so bad and has been longing for it so he’s taken in easily.

I fell sorry for Martyn all he wanted was love but Alex conned him, ripped him off. If i was him i would feel so stupid for buying into it and angry that Alex doesn’t seem to care or notice that she hurt, he thought she had feelings for him.

The three character traits show that the third little pig is the most admirable. Hard-working, clever, and ambitious are the three character traits of the third little pig. The third little pig was hard-working because he used the bricks given to him by the man to build his house, preventing the wolf from destroying his house like he did to the other two pigs. The third little pig was ambitious because he got out of sight of the wolf in time to or else he would’ve been caught. The third little pig was clever because he was able to open the pot of boiling water, causing the wolf to fall in and be eaten. This story goes to show that even if you are weak or are the underdog, you could still outsmart the opponent using your…

For Sal, Dean’s destructive behavior serves as proof that Dean lives and thinks on a different, higher level than everyone else. Dean lives to feel alive; he lives for sensation and simulation of any kind, whether it is though drugs or women or music. He didn’t weight himself down with the past or burden himself thinking of the future; he lives only in the moment and, therefore, he wanted to take full advantage of every second. He runs from city to city, woman to woman, car to car, and back again in a never-ending, whirlwind adventure to find his place, to find “IT” (Kerouac 3). This isn’t far from what many want - to find their purpose in life, however, few will go to the lengths Dean will to find it. But there is admiration in that, in wanting something so desperately that you would go wherever and do whatever to achieve it. Dean takes this mentally to the extreme, unbound by social norms or the consideration of others; nothing was beyond his view of what is…

The most beneficial view of human life can sometimes turn out cruel and monstrous when it is fueled by power, greed and a lust for more. The two dictators Napoleon, the pig from Animal Farm and MUAMMAR AL-Qaddafi of Libya are examples of those who try to achieve their ideal government but end up corrupted by more power than thought possible. Napoleon created power for himself by using various methods. He is described in the novel as a “Fierce looking boar”. Similarly, Qaddafi was an unpredictable leader, brutal and intransigent to the end. MUAMMAR AL-Qaddafi of Libya and Napoleon, the pig are two powerful leaders who are similar due to their rise to power, laws/policies, and cruelties.…

When he sees the pig for the first time he, it’s not what he had expected. He says “this was no rose-and-larkspurred china” which implies the imperfections he finds with the pig. As he begins to describe the pig, his tone changes from wonder to pity for the pig. He describes the pig as a “Brobdingnag bulk” to describe how big this pig is by comparing it to the giants that live in Jonathan Swifts book Gulliver’s Travels. He sees this pig as this fat pig that can barely move, and is slowly rotting away, “on that black compost, fat-rutted eyes dream filled”. He also compares the pig to an “our marvel blazoned a knight, helmed, in cuirass, unhorsed and shredded in the grove of combat by a grisly-bristled boar”. He sees the fat of the pig as armor and its scars as to those of battle wounds.…

    The Pigman

The plot of The Pigman, by Paul Zindel is the key element in understanding and clarifying the situations that this book’s characters go through. The setting of The Pigman is a neighborhood in New York City and more specifically Franklin High School. The protagonists of this story are John Conlan and Lorraine Jensen. The story does not have a specific person or character that is the antagonist, but is several different challenges that John and Lorraine are faced with throughout the story. The title of the book comes from the nickname that John and Lorraine gave to their new friend, Angelo Pignati, partly because of his name but also because of the collection of pigs that belonged to his late wife. The author of the book, Paul Zindel, is from Staten Island, New York. The Pigman was Zindel’s first novel and he won many awards for this novel including “Children’s Book of the Year” in 1968. The three reasons I selected plot as the most important literary element of this novel is: 1) John and Lorraine become friends with an older man who has no wife and no children of his own, 2) John and Lorraine face many conflict and complications that teenagers still face today, and 3) John and Lorraine have to deal with death which is unexpected.…
